eastcoaster
No offense to any of the other great athletes up for this award, or their fans, but if Steve Nash does not win this award it would be an absolute farce. What he did in the 04/05 season was amazing. He has continued his stellar play in the first quarter of this season. Some analysts are calling him the MVP of the first quarter (not that it means that much), but just shows you how good the guy is....and he is Canadian :)
sKriSh
I voted Sinclair, but Steve Nash is gonna take it.

BC supporter
I voted for Nash, no question. His MVP season was one of the great accomplishments in Canadian sporting history, IMO. The fact he's a great guy and proud Canadian is just a bonus.
The Ref
Since this thread is named for our Christine Sinclair I am posting this link where it can be seen that she keeps racking up award after award. Boy, do I feel proud for her. http://www.portlandpilots.com/sports/wsoccer/
Free kick
So typical of the canadian media to be american-centric, narrow minded and clueless in the ways of the world. They view the world through american eyes. In her profile for this award, Sinclair is being touted for his contributions and achievements in NCAA soccer. College soccer for Pete sakes!! never mind the important stuff like WCQ, WCQ and Olympic qualifying. They can't clue in that Soccer is a global sport [:0] and success and achievement should be measured in that context. Not college. I have nothing against NCAA as an avenue for developing Canadian soccer talent, but thats what it is? a developmental vehicle. Whereas Nash is a professional and was named top player in what is accepted be everyone as the most competitive environment in the world for his sport. Plus he has represnted canadian internationally with a great deal of distinction in sport that, next to soccer, is the most global in nature. The Ref
The irony of it all is that Nash started as a soccer player and a good one at that.
