Daniel Imhof scored two days after playing for Canada in Luxembourg for Bochum, who fell 1-4 at home to Aachen. The goal came in the m. 69, was the 1-3, but there was not comeback to be had.

I see Helmond Sport (de Jong) played today but no report yet. They have stalled lately after starting strongly.

Dang. I was so focussed on the result and the implications on the Bundesliga 2 title race that I missed the fact that Daniel Imhof scored. Thx.

Marcel de Jong puts in yet another 90 minutes as Helmond beat Dordrecht 1-0 before 2700 fans at home. They are seventh, nine points off the lead.

I think, considering the level he is playing lately and his continuity, the trust his coach is putting in him, that Marcel is another player who deserves a look from our national team coach. The Lux game would have been good for him. 2nd tier Dutch is higher than the same anywhere in Scandinavia, and we have seen a few out of there.

A reason why Helmond is oddly famous in Holland. Cruyff scored the famous penalty that Pires and Henry tried to imitate against them when playing for Ajax in 1971, when Helmond was in top flight. With the score 4-0, short pass to Jesper Olsen the little Danish striker, tap back, and Johan scores past a stunned keeper.

Friend keeps getting chances, but to no avail. Still it's scoreless in m. 52, Moss needs to two unanswered in 35 minutes to knock Molde out of Eliteserien.

In the CCC:

- Hume not even on the bench as Leicester fall to Burnley 1-0. No word on the Leicester website as to why.

- DeVos plays 90 as Coventry City and Ipswich draw 1-1. No Peters.

- Norwich defeat Luton 2-0 with Brennan not even on the bench. Perhaps the internationals are getting rested.

- Bircham still out for QPR as they fall 3-1 to Plymouth.

- Not a good day for Canadian appearances, as Simpson doesn't make the bench as league leaders Sheffield United need a late one to draw Millwall 2-2.

Marcel again played in the front 3 of a 4-3-3 after being in the backline the week before. The match report indicates he set up a few chances that weren't converted by the goalscorer, Calabro. I'm not sure where he'd fit in with the national team, as he's a left-sided player where we already have Jazic, Brennan, and Simpson, to name a few. But he'd surely be worth a look, at least sometime before the next WCQs. But that is still a long way, so no hurry really.

Michael Klukowski sees his first action since his long injury, coming on in the 76th minute with his Club Brugge leading 3-0 over La Louviere (no Begovic this time). The match ends at 4-0, with a final goal in the 80th. Club Brugge sit 4th in Belgium, 6 points out of first.

Good to see that Mike is back. Hopefully he'll see some action against Juve mid-week in the Champions League (the match will be live on TLN).

Finishes 0-0 and that probably should be considered success since it was an away match against Greuther Furth who will end the week no more than 3 points out of a promotion spot and Saarbrueken finished with 10 men. No word yet about whether Nsaliwa finished the match.

Also Kicker now has him in central defence.

It seems that Nsaliwa started today for Saarbrueken and on the right side of the mid-field. It also seems that the team has a completely revamped starting 11. Probably long overdue but also likely in part forced because of injuries.

Radz plays the duration as Fulham fall at The Riverside 3-2 in quite an entertaining match. Bit invisible out there to be honest. Better 1st half than 2nd but he's certainly not running at opposition defenders like he used to.

Same old same old for Fulham, defense is bleeding goal scoring opportunities except there's no Van der Sar guarding the twine.

PAOK 1-1 Kallithea at the 45th. Fernandes in goal for Paok.

It ended that way, in a game Paok should have put away. Goal against on a header coming from a cross.

Paok goes vs. Stuttgart at home this 24th, the game is live on DSF I think plus Greek channels (Nova on Alpha or is it reverse?).

In Portugal Aguiar did not dress for Gondomar, who won to stay within sight -five points- of the leaders in the Liga de Honra (2nd division). Perhaps he is injured, I don't recall a card last game.

In 2B Serie C, Marco Bras played 90 in defense for Pampilhosa as they drew Ol. Hospital 1-1 away. They are fourth, seven back of the leaders with a game in hand.

Alpha on Nova ;). Not available in Canada, though.
