Re Lars: maybe Tromso should have offered him an extension a few months ago when they could already see his talent, maybe before the other clubs caught on to him. Small clubs sometimes have to risk.

As for the probable move to Rosenborg. Does anyone think that he'd be paid more there than as a sub for Spurs? I think even at Spurs they gave him a contract extension at one point (am I wrong?), so he probably made some good money, you can't sit on the bench in the EPL without them paying you well for it. So, having made money sitting on the bench, is he now opting to get better money -better than at Tromso, worse than at Spurs- to do the same? Or does he feel he has a real chance at starting for the club?

The odd thing is that he has announced he is going when the team still has a couple UEFA matches to play, and if they go through (unlikely but still possible), what does he do in the new year, not play as he'll be with another club? That is a bit odd I'd say. Don't be surprised if he loses the starting spot now, especially since they say the former starter is back healthy.

The former starter won't be fit until some time early next year, so Lars will definately be starting the next two games in the UEFA-cup.

As for the reason why he wasn't offered a new contract a long time ago, Tromsø basically needed to know if they survived in the Norwegian Premier League before they could start offering Premier League wages. If we had been relegated, we would have to start cutting costs, and having two goalkeepers making good money in the second highest league wouldn't make any sense. Also, Lars wouldn't have considered signing a contract to play on the second hightest level in Norway, I think.

Okay, understood, but you could still offer a contract that would be valid as long as the team stayed up in Eliteserien, and would be null if they went down. Something to try to get a bit of transfer money as a prize for having shown his talent to the bigger teams.

As I see it Tromso pretty well need two wins in their UEFA matches to go through.

College Sports Online-14-NOV-05-UC-Santa Barbara: Tyler Rosenlund Named Big West Co-Player of the Week

Nov. 14, 2005 SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - No. 14 UC Santa Barbara sophomore midfielder Tyler Rosenlund was named the Big West Conference Co-Player of the Week today after scoring the game-winner and adding an assist in the Gauchos' contest with UC Irvine Saturday. Rosenlund shares the award with Irvine's Brad Evans. The Port Coquitlam, B.C. native netted his second game-winning goal of the season and fourth overall when he chipped the ball over the Anteater goalkeeper in the 47th minute to put UCSB on top for good 1-0. Later in the contest, Rosenlund helped put the game out of reach for UCI, when he sent a curling cross to a charging Jonathan Davis on the backpost, who knocked down the pass and scored in the 87th minute for the final 2-0 score. This is Rosenlund's first career Player of the Week award and marks the third time a Gaucho has received the honor this season. Senior forward Ivan Becerra won the award after netting two goals against UC Riverside September 18, while freshman forward Eric Avila was recognized after scoring the golden-goal and assisting on the game-winner in Gaucho wins over UC Davis and Cal State Fullerton two weeks ago. The Canadian Youth National Team star was also named the Macy's/ucsbgauchos.com Athlete of the Week for his efforts. Rosenlund and the Gauchos kick off post season play this Saturday, November 19 when they host San Diego State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at 1:00 p.m. in Harder Stadium.

Bedfont 0-3 Hampton & Richmond Borough

Middlesex Senior Cup, First Round

Elliott Godfrey started and played 68 minutes, while Jon Henry-Hayden played the entire match and did quite well.

One comment from the Hampton forum: Well played Jon Henry-Hayden - never stopped working even at 3-0 up on a cold Tuesday night in an unimportant cup.

Hampton have been drawn at home to Hillingdon Borough (two levels below, in the Spartan South Midlands Prem) in the second round.

So, what's Worcester City's nickname . . . "the Sauce"?;)
