Stu
Just got this e-mail back from SHAW: "Currently we do not carry GolTV as part of our channel line up. We appreciate the time you have taken to provide us with your feedback. We have forwarded your interest in this channel to the appropriate department for future consideration. We apologize but we have no definitive answer as to when this channel may be added to our current channel line up". I encourage everyone in Calgary, and anyone else who uses Shaw, to bombard them with requests for this channel
DJT
Gol TV Canada kicked off on Rogers at 12:00 AM Eastern on November 1. They don't have a schedule on-screen or on their site yet, and soccerTV.com lists only a few items. So far they have roughly followed Gol TV USA, but not exactly (eg. they had the Canadian-made "Direct Kicks" instead of "Ole, La Liga" at 12:30 AM). Their first match was Medellin vs. Nacional from Colombia at 2:00 AM, consistent with Gol TV USA. It looks like they will have three UEFA Cup matches on Thursday: Crvena Zvezda vs. Basel, Middlesbrough vs. Dnipro, Palermo vs. Lokomotiv Moskva. sstackho
ExpressVu (at least some of it) now has GolTV on channel 404. Free until the end of January apparently.

Oh boy, finally a channel on which we can get our Direct Kicks fix!! [xx(] Here's your chance to fit the Canadian programming requirements "Voyageurs TV". roni_9
Anybody knows if GOL TV is on Starchoice?
Yob
GolTV isn't on Star Choice and probably won't be in the near future. Star Choice is owned by Shaw and generally they carry the same channels.
roni_9
THANKS YOB, What about bell expressVu? do you confirm that GOL is on it? In this cas I will change my provider today!!! I am a fan of la Liga!!!

Nope, that's wrong, no UEFA Cup on Gol TV Canada. Their schedule is now available on their site and on Rogers' on-screen guide and there are no UEFA Cup matches listed. (Gol TV USA, on the other hand, will have all three matches. We get the crap deal again, just like with FSWC.) Oh, but we do get Serie A — so make that FOUR different channels carrying it in Canada. And yet we still can't get Lazio vs. Inter this coming weekend (because North American rights are held by FSC and no one in Canada, including FSWC, has bought them or been allowed to buy them). Meanwhile we get the same set of three or four matches shown on those four channels. How stupid is that?
Cheeta
Taking a wait and see attitude with this. So long as the Wee Elf gets her movie channels I've pretty much got a free hand with choosing who carrys the signal. Would love to tell SHAW I'm cancelling because they're not carrying GolTV. Jarrek
Saw Dnipro get shackled by Boro on GolTV. Shakhtar did trash Stuttgart 2-0 at Stuttgart.

Given that I've seen some Gol TV broadcasts through Sportsnet and downloads, my expectations were quite low for this channel (they have the worst commentators I've ever seen and some of the worst production values I've ever seen, but I can accept that)... but they've STILL managed to disappoint me (I CAN'T accept not getting the schedule right)... Oh, now I see they've updated their schedule for next week — and took down the schedule for the rest of this week in the process... Oh brother... Loud Mouth Soup
Wow-the free subscription on Vu lasted all of 2 days. I can no longer get the channel without subscribing. Talk about cheap-ass.
devioustrevor
I usually have it on while I'm doing homework. I'll be keeping this channel for sure. It'll be that much better if Rogers includes it in their Digital Sports Pack as it won't cost me any more money. If not, $2.49 a month is peanuts. sstackho
For me on ExpressVu (VDSL), nothing shows up on 404 any more. Apparently, it is just in "testing" mode. You can't even pay to get it yet. But it's a good sign that it will be available eventually.
Loud Mouth Soup
Yup-My ExpressVu channel is totally gone now, too. Never seen live "testing" taunting subscribers like this.
Leafs
From what I have seen so far this is great for all of us. 24/7 how can this be so bad. It is not first rate US/ABC?NBC quality. But hey if you are a soccer fan how can you not like 24/7 soccer. For example yesterday morning for the non Juve fans of the world they had Milan Udinese live . That ment there where two Serie A live games to chose from, What can be wrong with that. I am sure as time goes forward it will get better. Give them time to get there act toghter, dont be haters.
