Daniel
Yay, let's have players unavailable! Huzzah! Ugh... At least we're staying at 12 teams, and can't be shocked by the host.
Jason
So how about Gold Cup 2009 in Canada played in Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal? Some of the venues are not as big as the ones used in the States which could be a bit of a problem. However, I'd still like to see the attempt made. Daniel
Hope the nats performance will give a media boost for the U20s (or the WYC give a boost for the nats, either way ).
Gian-Luca
Won't players be more likely to be available in June than in July? They would have to play throught their off-season, but they wouldn't miss pre-season in Europe at least.
Massive Attack
I think Concacaf had to move this to June. The 2007 WYC is scheduled for July 1-22 (according to the CSA site). I think they didn't want the two events to overlap. As for the event taking place in the U.S., I don't think anyone should be surprised. The closest Canada will ever come to hosting the Gold Cup will be possibly one group involving Canada.
Daniel
Oops, my bad, I thought the end of the season was June, not May...

Jason Well, the stadiums used in the States are rarely full. Our parks would suit the tournament just fine in my opinion.
