Guest speedmonk42
Personally my gut says CNE, not Downsview. Since we are basicly the only people that matter..(sarcasm). What do we want? Maybe we can do a little lobbying. CNE:1 Downsview:

argh1
It's been two years since the CSA first showed plans for a multi-sport, I believe the term was rectalinear "National" stadium. I at first was sooooo opposed to a national sports body wanting one stadium in one city I was beside myself. I vote now to just build the damn thing and make the soap opera stop. Downtown to me would make more sense. But in the 'burbs if that's where it's gotta be okay. What I can't figure out is why they can't work with Rogers Centre. The previous SkyDome owners were dicks maybe. But I'm sure for the number of home games the CSA plays let alone in Toronto, get Rogers to lay some sod for the occasional tourney or home CSA game. Anyways just end the torture of this stadium. If Maple Leaf Sports wants to invest in an MLS team let them build their own stadium and sell leasing on a per game bases to the CSA. Instead of the other way around.

The Beaver
Toronto. Get the thing built! Our largest and most important city, and you can't get this thing done? The Vancouver stadium is slated for our downtown, and since this in general seems a good idea, I'd suspect it'd be the same for Toronto. As long as there is tonnes of good transit access to the stadium, you should be fine wherever it is built.
RealGooner
Given the choice, Downtown at the EX. It would give soccer better exposure to be downtown than in the 'burbs.

Alex
Trent University, oh wait we already got a new one...field turf, supposed to be 1000 seats but they are slow and will put em in in a few months. Id say it should be at the Ex where it was supposed to be in the very very very first place when the CSA got the $600,000 from FIFA, and drew up the design and such. john tv
It's a shame that none of you guys seem to take this serious. So here we go, For the social aspect I believe that the CNE has a tradition far better than DV.I suspect that this playes an important part and although being about 3 or so minutes away from DV and knowing all the bars I would vote still CNE yet come to think of it we have some great bars in this area and come to think of it it would be a hell of a lot easier for me.I suspect that money talks and I guess the city will make the difference with the amount they are kicking in. So voting, knowing the power of Miller, it will turn out to be the CNE.I do remember at one time I forecasted that this thing would never happen and sofar I have been right, much to my dismay. zacRWE
CNE location.... easy by train or bus. All the major sporting centres are located there and it can be easily found by visitors to the city. As for Airport.. I herd something that the minute the visiting team lands in (say Toronto) toronto, the Toronto francise has the responsobility to get the team to hotel/training centres? is this true? but in no way would I complain if the stadium is built in the DV area.... just get it done!!!! please!!! TOareaFan
quote:Originally posted by john tv It's a shame that none of you guys seem to take this serious. I believe people on here take the issue very seriously. There are numerous threads (much to the chagrin of some) about this issue which evoke a lot of response. What people probably can't take seriously is the notion that the fan would/could be consulted by the CSA (or anyone) on this. Don't forget, the CSA (in order) has now told us that CNE is the perfect place to be, no sorry Varsity is the only place for this, wait hang on York really is perfect for this stadium, well not really York near York at Downsview that is what we meant, no hold on we never said no to the perfect place that is the CNE. All this changing of minds and I don't think they have ever consulted fans (via a poll or a discussion board or anything of the sort) and I can tell you from personal experience when a fan does ask for information or makes a suggestion on the project....you hear the deafening sound of silence. The issue is serious...the concept of fan input----- not so much.
