canso
In The Clash of the Canadians, Stalteri could not have played better...and Radzinski could not have played worse! T-Rad looked like the weak link for Fullham. I lost count of how many comments Martin Tyler made about what a dissapointment he was. Paul even give him a good kick in the ankle just to rub it in. sstackho
Today in the CCC: Millwall line-up against QPR with neither Simpson nor Serioux anywhere to be found for Millwall. Bircham looks set to wreak havoc and play his usual 90 for QPR. Why do we never call this guy up any more? Hume starts for Leicester against Brighton. De Vos starts and Peters on the bench for Ipswich as they visit Burnley. Brennan on the bench for Norwich as they host Hull, after several starts in a row. sstackho
To summarize the day in the CCC: - Bircham plays 90 for QPR as they draw 1-1 away to a Canuck-less Millwall. QPR are 6th, Millwall are 22nd. - Hume plays 90 (his sub last game came on for Stephen Hughes instead) as Leicester draw 0-0 with Brighton. Leicester are 17th. - De Vos plays 90 and Peters comes on in the 60th minute, with Ipswich down 1-0 to Burnley. Final score 3-0 Burnley. Ipswich sit 12th. - Brennan comes on in the 77th minute, with Norwich leading Hull 2-1, and that's how it ends. Norwich are 16th. Derby play away to Leeds tomorrow. Guest Ed
Klukowski is still injured and did not make the pitch in Club Brugges game against Bayern Munich in the heart of Oktoberfest-land today in Champions League Group A play. He whose name cannot be uttered in the Cdn equivalent of "Freedom Fries" land also was coming off an injury and did not appear for the FC Hollywood. Just wanted to add that 1) Sundsvall were completely outplayed, 22-4 in shots 2) the Gerba-to-Rosenborg (a club that is playing Champions League and fighting relegation at the same time - their fans must live an interesting life) rumour is still alive and strong. According to local media in Sundsvall, Gerba is Rosenborgs # 1 target for a new striker.

Manuel
Fernandes was the Man of the Match as a 9 men PAOK tie 2-2 in Ukraine, and advance to the group stage of the Uefa Cup. I think he has solidified the numbeer 1 spot at PAOK after this performance. Check out the link on the game, it's in English. http://clubs.phantis.com/sports/index.php?s=75da35dea720bf21ca2720d49cd49a0b&showtopic=7160

I guess his game is a little rusty! Now if all the arguments against Lars and Dani are reapplied, I guess they are now 1 and 2 in the pecking order? The Beaver
Wow, the goaltender forecast sure changes fast 'round here, though I must admit I don't mind seeing these positive signs. Yes, Frank needs to give Fernandes a look soon, though would it be wise to yank him from club duty just when he seems to be getting stuck in? (Mind you, our next game is still a month away.) Glad to see Lars playing regularly, too. And congrats to Bernier on the goal. Any chance he'll graduate to a stronger league before too long? jonovision
Marcel de Jong scored in the 90th minute for Helmond Sport in a 4-1 victory over Top Oss in Holland's Gouden Gids Divisie (2nd tier). Not sure yet whether he started or came on as a sub.
RS
De Jong looks to be shaping up into a solid pro. I'm not sure if he has the talent to displace any of the current midfielders (even in 3 years time), but he'll at least add to the player pool depth. Only time will tell, but it's great to see a young Canuck doing well in Holland (in addition to the wunderkind Jonathan De Guzman).
