No Whitecaps fan with any sense of history would ever cheer for Seattle. But Krammerhead is redefining Whitecaps for everyone else who maybe DOES have memory. And telling us what soccer moms really are to boot.

And defending the club's roster policy more radically than Lenarduzzi himself.

What does such a chic radical do in the off-season?

Or is it that they've finally hired you as their token Ultra press person?

Oh sorry, do the voyageurs dictate who I'm supposed to cheer for now or are you just being one huge anus face?

For your info, I chat with the Sounders fans all season during games. I've met them and I like them. I'm also read a lot of discussion boards where Impact fans tell everybody how far ahead they and Rochester are above the rest of the league.

So sorry if I offend you because I choose to cheer for an underdog team who's supporters I like. If you don't like it, go screw yourself.

Well said, Krammer!

What is this "must cheer against rivals crap?"

I don't know where his vitriol is coming from. I didn't think it was a law that I have to cheer for Montreal because I live in Canada. His telling me I don't have a clue about Whitecaps history is laughable. At least I've remained in the country and following the team all of these years.

Why the uncalled for insults is anyones guess.

The Sounders will host the final Oct. 1st, and if it is at Qwest Field then of course all Cascadia supporters are more than welcome to come and root for the team of their choice. Make it an "end of season" bash. If it is at Starfire...good luck finding a ticket.

SOUNDERS in are the FINAL!

Interesting comments from Montreal players...

quote:

"The second goal, what can I say, it was a deflection, an unlikely occurrence," said Impact captain Mauro Biello. "When things like that happen there's nothing you can do."

quote:

"Their first goal was lucky," Biello said. "I think Greg just missed the ball."

quote:

"At halftime we were still confident with the way we played, we came out really well and controlled the tempo of the game," Biello said. "They really didn't have much, Burpo made some key saves."

About the quote that Biello made, (Sutton missing the ball). I dont like how he said that. It kinda sounds like he's blaming Sutton or at least calling him out. I didnt see the goal and Sutton may deserve it but hey, Montreal gave up four goals in two games.... there D should be blamed. They had such a good season of playing D, too give up four when it matters is unthinkable! (Montreal only gave up 15 all year!)

Sounds like a plan. If its at quest and not raining (I don't fancy the drive in the rain) I think i'll see you guys down there. Anyone else in vancouver want to join me?

I'll also support Seattle in the final and I agree that the Sounders' fans are very nice.

However I'll always take for a canadian team when they play a non canadian team. By the way, the Whitecaps are my second favorite team.

Krammerhead is also right when he says that he can take for the team he wants. Even if the Impact was playing a team from Zimbabwe it would be his right to support the african side if he doesn't like Montreal. Liberty.

For the Life of me, I can't understand why the Impact did not start or bring on Charles Gabeke earlier then they did. Is he hurt, or so out of shape he cant go 90 mins? Personally i would have started Gbeke and Sabrango up front and Biello in midfield. That being said, Seattle deserves to go through, and i wish them luck in the Final.

You guys remind me of the kids that come on the Spain board at BS and say "well the teams I like in Spain are Madrid and Barça, how about you guys?" Or "I think the teams to cheer for in Scotland are Rangers and Celtic cause they rock. Comments?". Soccer wanabees, who are usually put in their place immediately.

But in Vancouver I guess this is not the case anymore. We have redefined wimpy, we don't have any sport rivals. Noone hates us. We live in such a beautiful city where everyone loves each other and we love everyone. The Lions have no direct rival. The Canucks, no not them. The Grizzlies could have (Seattle of course) but we got rid of them because maybe folks were not being nice they way they were supposed to. Then when you have a longstanding rivalry in the form of the Sounders, who I always want to see at the bottom of the table, the kumbayas come along and start singing about peace love and understanding.

And it is not about Americans or the city itself or anything like that, I would go to Seattle 6 times a year as a kid as I have tons of family down there, went to parties there, concerts, and Caps games. Where we f-cking hated those suckers.

The killer is that these are the guys, if you read their webs and follow their posts, who are the self-proclaimed radical fans. The ultras, the extreme ones, the ones who say "boo", the visiting keeper bobbles the ball, and they come on this board -a Canadian soccer board I thought- and congratulate themselves publicly for how much they help the team with their hard core chanting. And crapping on the other 99.2% of the fans at the stadium who are not as "committed" as them.

And I am not saying you have to like Montreal either, only that Montreal has never been a direct rival of Vancouver in any sport, ever.

Rivalries are rivalries, just because you find your rival "nice" and can drink with him does not mean you start rooting for his team.

In the end you realize that the cowardly way Vancouver plays, with so much potential offense and a strong defense but no balls to go ahead and take a game from an inferior, is highly reflective of the Vancouver mentality.
