By the sounds of it, Lars had a tremendous game:

Tromsø IL 1-0 Galatasaray SK

Former UEFA Cup winners Galatasaray also suffered a narrow defeat in Norway. Hungarian defender Tamás Szekeres struck the only goal of the game midway through the second half, but the home side were equally indebted to goalkeeper Lars Hirschfeld who kept the team in the reckoning with a string of stunning saves, while like Besiktas, Galatasaray were guilty of wasting numerous chances.

Here's another shot of the soggy pitch.

Thunder Dan and gang must be going a bit nuts, what is wrong with this club? Their results aren't even that bad either.

From the wires:

PAOK Salonika coach quits

By Barney Spender

ATHENS, Sept 16 (Reuters) - Greek club PAOK Salonika are looking for their fourth coach in 12 months after Nikos Karageorgiou resigned on Friday.

"I want to thank PAOK's fans for their support. I wish the team good luck in the league and success in the future," Karageorgiou said in a statement.

Karageorgiou, a former PAOK player, took over as coach in mid-February following the sacking of the Austrian Rolf Fringer who had only replaced Angelos Anastasiadis five months earlier.

PAOK finished last season in fifth place but have only one point to show from their two league games this season.

On Thursday they drew 1-1 with Metallurg Donetsk in the first leg of their UEFA Cup first round match in Thessaloniki.

Georgos Kostikos and Haralambos Michailidis will take temporary charge of the first team until a new coach has been hired.

With that number of coaching changes in such short shrift, one has to assume the ownership is a bit wonky. Hey, if they hire Mike Keenan next, then you know they've lost their minds.

Lars, Patrice and Stephen have done realy well lately.

Lars have been top class in all matches since he arravide in the summer. Defintly one of the top goalkeepers in the league and maybe even been the very best IMO, and that with good competition with many national team keeper like, Norway International Espen Johnsen (Rosenborg) Sweden Internationl Eddie Gustavson (Ham-Kam), Oman International Ali Al Habsi (Lyn - Bolton after season end) Icland Internatinal Arni Gautur Aarason (Vålerenga) etc. Patrice was excellente when he came last season, struggle a bit more this season when the whole team have played poor but have been pure class lately, are ready for bigger league so im afraid he is lost for us pretty soon. Stephen have hugh potential, very quick but need to play more on this level to improve his other qualities to be ready for bigger leagues.

All of them will be key players against Galatasaray if we gonna shok the soccer world and beat Gala. We will most likely be under hugh pressure by a very good Galatasaray team. Lars will have a busy night as Gala probably will create a lot of chances, Bernier will be importen as an anchor on the mifield an not alow Gala to much space and Stephen may be a hugh treath on qounters with his speed.

Hope to see at least 4 Canadians in the UEFA cup group play (Tromsø and Viking)
