The CCC (Canadian Connection Championship or the Coca-Cola Championship, take your pick) has a full slate of matches today, with the exception of Derby who play tomorrow.

Millwall got a couple of players on loan (Tottenham full-back Philip Ifil and Leeds midfielder Jermaine Wright), which will mean more competition for places there, but might actually help to get them a win.

JDV and Peeters start for ITFC,, Brennan starts, Serioux on bench, No simpson, Hume on bench for Leicster.

Listening to ITFC v. Southampton on internet radio. Floodlites went out after 5 minutes. Players cleared the pitch.

-------------------edit

Ipswich game now half time 1-0 for Ipswich and Saints commentator Jimmy Case says the dif in the game is that JDV is completely bossing saints around in ITFC end and is bossing Saints defenders in set pieces, which also resulted in ITFC scoring.

Brennan subbed out at the half, and Norwich lose 2-1 away to Watford and continue to have a difficult time in the second tier.

On the other hand, the new boys for Millwall help out, and a late goal gives Millwall their first win this year - and it's away to Wolves! [:0] Serioux was subbed in during injury time - not sure if he was part of the goal.

Humey on for Leicester in the 69th minute down 1-0 away to Cardiff, and that's how it ends. Hume picks up a yellow for dissent.

Guest Jeffery S.

In Uefa Cup action Thursday night, first leg:

Viking Stavager (Sandro Grande) plays at home to Austria Vienna.

Paok Salonika (Daniel Fernandes), is home to Metalurh Donetsk, with seven straight wins to start the Ukrainian season.

Tromso (Lars Hirschfeld, Bernier, Ademolu) are home to Galatasaray, though probably more worried about not being relegated this year than having a successful UEFA run. Good for the gate though.

So what do we do with McKenna. We wait and see, but he's had the scoring touch for a while and we're starved for goals...

Good question. Target forwards cause so many problems for CONCACAF teams and Kevin seems to be a much better one than any of the Scandinavian based options we have.

The thought of a three-pronged attack (a la Spain game) with Kevin up front, with 2 of the following (Radzinski, deRosario, Hume) in withdrawn positions, would probably give us our best chance to score.

Personally, I think that McKenna could help us more up front than in the backline. But then again, we still need to build a proper backline. Hmm...

i like that a lot. You can't argue with success. Kevin scores when we put him up front and radz, dero and hume (2 of them) in withdrawn positions would be definitly something to try. For me it would be radz on the left and humie on the right....dero on the bench but more than a capable sub.

WEEK IN REVIEW

BERNARDO FALLAS

Houston Chronicle

13 September 2005

Major League Soccer

Player of the week - Dwayne De Rosario, Earthquakes.

Why he's notable - The Canadian set up all of San Jose's goals, and the host Earthquakes beat CD Chivas USA for the first time this season 3-0 on Saturday.

Kluk's not even on the bench, marcl_19

yup you are right, just finished watching the 1st half. Brugge's goalie kept them in it, but Juve has scored now in the 2nd half so they'lll just sit back and take the win no doubt. Not much real intrest in the game now as the action was all in brugge's zone and now it'll prolly be pretty tame. Anyways, i hope kluko gets better soon! good luck to brugge

EDIT:

GFame ends 2-1 in favour of Juve.....maybe i should have watched the 2nd half as it seems to have turned into a decent game

In the first round proper of the UEFA Cup:

Grande stays on the bench as Viking beat Austria Vienna 1-0.

In his first-team debut, potential Canuck (well he's a Canuck, but will he choose to play for Canada?) Jonathan de Guzman is subbed on in the 85th minute as Feyenoord host Rapid Bucuresti, with the score 1-1 - and that's the final score as well.

Lars, Bernier and Ademolu all start for Tromso, hosting Galatasaray - 0-0 at the half.

Where are you getting the live lineups?

Apparently, after the match, Galatasaray and its fans complained about the extremely muddy, cold and wet conditions due to the snow and rain.

No word on how Lars did in goal, but apparently the Turkish suporters were very pleased about their sustained attacks in the first half, so I don't think it was a piece of cake for Lars, even if the conditions may have assisted the defence.
