What was your first reaction to reading this subject heading?[xx(] Fortunately, it means about as much as the thread started earlier today. But remember that initial feeling, because it could very well happen in the near future.

Okay, now all the T.O. fans who were whooping it up on the bandwagon can get on my case. Loud Mouth and Rudi first.:D

Okay, the little fishy will bite....

The only constant through this whole thing has been the $27-million (I want to know how exactly they came to that number, not $25, not $30, but $27) from the feds.

Besides, there's a federal election coming soon. Hence billion dollar fantasy investments in the Toronto subway system to York U. (coincidentally also in today's Star). Plus promises for more money to cities.

If the Liberals wanted to use the stadium as a *cough* bribe *cough* they could've put it elsewhere other than the safest Liberal seat in the country.

90 Ridings in Toronto. Or is it more? The money stands. Brick and mortor projects are worth their weight in political gold.

P.S. I have to admit though, that would be as funny as all Hell.

J. Volpe

"Those guys as the CSA are totaly fu'ked. You'd have to be dumber than a bag of hammers to give them this sort of money. We're out."

K. Pipe

"Despite recent setbacks in regard to federal funding I think that we've show throught this whole process an ability to overcome obsticales, adapt are plans and continue moving forward. I feel that in time despite the federal goverments current possition that we'll also be able to innovate new and exciting directions which well enable the GTA and Canada to host a successful 2007 WYC while also providing a much needed, and lasting infastructure legacy for the nearly 1 million Canadians who participate in this wonderful sport of soccer."

J. Warner

"Listen, Mon. Dat Pipe has gone TOTALY insane. He just dosen't look like that Leahy guy on Trailor Park Boys. He live it! The 2007 World Youth Cup is going to Haiti. They a least, have their **** together."

Well it's not just Downview's stadium. It's Toronto's and region stadium. There's no coughing necessary, it's obviously a bribe. That's why they seemingly pressed so hard for Downsview as opposed to the CNE (city land). Downsview is federal land so it becomes an obvious federal project, plus Downsview was supposed to have been developed 10 years ago into an urban park. And it's located in the north part of the city much closer to the suburbs so it looks as if they are doing this for suburbia as well.

Upper Canada (or whatever derogatory term y'all use for us) is not the Liberal lock it's been lately. They need to start buying our votes with our own money. Instead of using our money to buy votes elsewhere.

Robert, I asked you before not to create new threads on this topic just to repeat your same point over again. You could have posted this in the other thread.

We simply do not need four separate threads on a Toronto stadium within the top half of the CMNT page.
