sstackho
Thanks for that, Joe. Wow, Kenny certainly looked shaky on that one sequence in particular, where he tried to pounce on the ball, and missed. But what an amazing save by Hutchinson (I assume) early in the highlights! nolando
Is that Braz who headed the ball right on to the edge of the box in the centre of goal? I think it was number 2 and dont know him by sight.

MikeD
Kenny reminded me of one of those plastic goalies in tabletop hockey. They cover a lot of the net but the puck bounces back off them with wild abandon after every save. In fairness, though, these highlights may have made Kenny look worse than he actually played. I'm looking forward to the tape delayed airing on Sportsnet to see.

I'm looking forward to the tape delayed airing on Sportsnet to see. I think if Kenny realizes he is not great holding onto a ball then he is right to punch out a high one instead of trying to hang onto it. I counted just one case where he should have held instead of punching. He never missed a high one though, always was there, so that is a merit. As for the rest, his positioning was quite good always, he was in the right place on a number of Raul chances in close, on Tamudo in one, a Vicente shot. In a couple of cases, including the goal, he gave up rebounds that he should have held onto, or at least pick up his own rebound. He was also good coming out to anticipate, getting to balls in the area before Spain strikers. He kicked out okay (one bad kick first half, the rest good), and often looked to play out with a throw, which I was glad to see. A typical option for him was out to the left wing, where often Bernier would be. Another plus for him was that in no case was there a mix-up with the defence, they spoke and were well coordinated. So overall a good performance, with the only drawback the rebound on the 2nd goal. Regarding these highlights, well they start with the two good Spain chances 2nd half when Raul was leading the pressure, including the crossbar. There is weaker defending and clearing as the defense is tired, but there is nothing worse than what we see here. They give none of the Canada chances, which are just as good I'd say, Radz's first half shot, a near miss in the 2nd half (Rocco was it?), the close counter with De Ro looking for Radz's pass when behind the defenders. So not flattering to Canada, makes Spain look better than they were.
zacRWE
Nice outing by our boys.... Greay strike by Sandro... top quality there! Im guessing the Spanish showed all the chances they got and nothing from Canada... Except the goal!
Jedda
Actually guys, I asked Kenny about the second goal yesterday when got back here to Boden. He told me that Raul actually got a heel or a toe on the ball and it hit his chest, so he never had the ball even if it looked like that. So he was pretty much not able to get it at all. But I agree that it did look strange at first, that's why I asked him about the goal.

An Observer
Actually, on the Soccerclips link you can also download extensive highlights of the Ipswich-Arsenal reserves match where you can see Peters twice blow past the Aresenal left back (Clichy?) and cross for both of Ipswich goals. They lost 4-2 but seem to play most of the match down a man (red card resulting in a penalty for Arsenal's first goal).
