Massive Attack
I had lots of fun driving home from work on Friday. My 18km trip from Richmond Hill to Woodbridge that usually takes about 20-25 minutes became a 2h45min journey. I had to turn around at 3 different locations because the road was too flooded for cars to pass. The traffic updates on the radio stations were totally useless. Nobody was giving any usefull info on what streets/intersections were having problems. I finally decided to head north and then west. I found it easier to get home during the blackout. I hope I never have to go through anything like this again.
Elias
You know, you're just asking for it from the anti-Torontonians around here. "Ah, a little water and all the little babies couldn't handle it." "Why didn't you guys call the navy?" "You can't build flat roads on flat lands, but you're going to build a soccer stadium?" Free kick
At 4:00-4:30PM on Friday, I'd had seen something I had never seen before, the on-set of darkness in the middle of the afternoon. Bare in mind, I was in school when a solar eclipse occured and the school at that time had planned to keep everyone in school for their own saftey. But the darkness from the eclipse was not even close to what I saw Friday. Getting back to last Friday, everyone at work was hovered around the windows looking outside taking in the phenomena. I got so dark outside that the street lights ( which I believe are sensor controlled)had come on. There was news of a tornato warning. But once that was over, I did not notice anything else unusual at all. yet, I kept hearing all weekend about the mess that the weather left on Friday. But I'd didn't see anything at all. Not even the heavy rainfall that I kept hearing about.

Marc
Normal drive to Peterborough: two hours and a bit Friday night drive to Peterborough: just short of six hours Watching those in the westbound lanes was funny - seeing them juist stopped altogether in front of a big pool of water. A bathroom break in Scarborough honestly took one hour to get off, go, and get back on thanks to the lack of stoplights and stupid drivers and overpasses without eastbound exits.
