I believe there is one more round before the group stage. The first round legs will be played on September 15th and 29th. The group stage begins on October 20th and runs until mid-December.

Correctomundo. Here is the criteria for the next round (knockout). The 40 teams advancing from the next 80-team knockout round go into the group stage.

Round 1 September involving 80 teams:

32 winners from the qualifying round

10 Cup Winners from countries ranked 1-10

2 third-placed teams from countries ranked 7-8

5 fourth-placed teams from countries ranked 4-8

8 fifth-placed teams from countries ranked 1-8

3 sixth-placed teams from countries ranked 1-3

16 teams eliminated from the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League

3 Intertoto teams

1 defending cup holder

Bernier is stopped, Ademolu scores, and Lars saves two, TIL goes to UEFA Cup group stage. Despite missing on the first penalty, Bernier is called TIL's best on the pitch. Lars is credited with winning the shootout, which saw only four goals on ten opportunities, before Ademolu scored the sixth and final.

Great to see our boys so involved. LARS IS THE MAN!

Fantastic news for all 3 Canucks. I'm glad that Lars made the smart decision in deciding to stick with Tromso over joining Canada for the Spanish exhibition. If continues to play well for TIL, he will surely be signed by one of the top Scandinavian clubs.

Isn't Tromso already one of Scandinavia's top clubs?
