drfan23
If we can get all of our european players for the game. Mine would look like this: GK Hirschfeld RB CB CB LB Stalteri Mckenna Hutchinson Klukowski RM CM CM LM Hume De Guzman Imhof or Grande Simpson AM De Rosario ST Occean Maybe have Imhof or Grande playing behind in a defensive midfield role. Start Occean because he seems to have found his scoring touch of late and is good at holding up the ball. Play De Rosario in an attacking midfield role similar to the one he plays for San Jose. Jim Brennan shouldnt be starting until he proves he can get regular playing time with Norwich. Maybe put Nsaliwa at RB and move Stalteri to RM instead of Hume, if Nsaliwa shows up. shaku_bert
Drfan, I respect your opinion but............ why is Lars automatically chosen by so many people? He has played 4 competitive games in the last 6 months. Sutton gets my vote! while Radz will not be a fixture in future teams, I would probably insert him for Occean for this game. And I dunno about big Kev at the back against such a strong team
Timotas
I think even Stalteri mentioned that he'd rather be playing a more important role for the team, where he can contribute more. I think your lineup looks quite solid though... but I'd chose Grande over Imhof anyday. I still think Imhof is rubbish... and Sutton over Hirschfeld. It's positive that we have so many strong centre midfielders. Hutchinson, DeGuzman, Grande, Imhof (even though he's rubbish), Bircham, and Stalteri (when needed to play there he does a great job). youllneverwalkalone
I'll have a go... ----------------Fernandes----------------- Stalteri----Nsaliwa-----Reda-----Klukowski Peters---Hutchinson----Bobby-------Simpson ---------Jonathan DeGuzman---------------- ---------------McKenna-------------------- Hume on for JP or JDG Jr after 45. Bertuzzi44
Unless Sutton has done something to lose the starting keeper job, I don't excpect Yallop to change. And he shouldn't, Sutton earned the #1 job so it's his to lose. Lars or Fernandes might get the call and might even see some action, but I highly doubt either would start over Sutton. It wouldn't be fair to Sutton anyways, as he has played quite well. Players in my mind that must be called: Stalteri Klukowski DeRo Hutchinson De Guzman Hume Occean Friend Peters Simpson ...this should generally be the core for our A-team, and I would like them to play together as often as possible. After them, I really don't care who Yallop calls.
David C.
Another option (3-4-3): ---------------Sutton---------------- ----Nsaliwa----Imhof----Kuklowski---- Stalteri---Atiba---deGuzman---Simpson ----Hume----------------deRosario---- -------------McKenna----------------- subs: Occean, Brennan, Peters, Serioux, Hirschfeld rationale: 1. Forget using wingbacks to make endless long runs and playing immobile centrebacks. Go to three full-time defenders, who have vision and mobility. 2. Work on improiving attack, with two withdrawn forwards, playing off a single target. 3. Work to improve midfield possession with best six control players (and passers) in midfield and withdrawn forward positions.

El Hombre
Has Jazic been playing with any regularity lately? If so, I'd kinda like to see him there and move Klukowski into the middle with Reda/Mckenna.

LUFC
Ipswich's website said Peters was called up for the game. Anyway here's my dream lineup: --------------Sutton------------------ Bernier---Nsaliwa---Klukowski---Brennan/Jazic Stalteri---Hutchinson---De Guzman---Simpson ---------Occean---------Hume----------- Subs: Hirschfeld, McKenna, Peters, Grande, De Rosario. drfan23
I really dont think Jim Brennan deserves a start right now until he proves that he can atleast make the bench for Norwich. So in that case LB should be Klukowski and LM should be Simpson. Worst case scenario De Rosario gets moved to LM and Simpson to LB.

drfan23
I also think that Atiba next to Bobby in midfield would be lethal but that we would be risking alot in terms of quickness at the back if say Reda or Mckenna started. Raul, Morientes or Torres against Mckenna and Reda scares me especially after the display they put up against Portugal (horrible man marking), so we definitely need quickness back there which Atiba provides. zacRWE
Daniel Imhof has started both games for VfL Bochum. he was pulled out of one game late but played the full 90 in the other. I just think we should be starting players who are getting regular looks on their club side, whether that be Klukowski, Peters, DeRo or Staltieri. What do you guys think about Sutton playing goal? he should at least see time against Luxembourg. What about Will Johnson from Chicago? Think Yallop may want to see him play? Have we all given up on Menezes ever playing for Canada again?
Joe Keeper
These defensive uncertainties are pressing, but I think that Hutchinson would be wasted at center back. My XI Sutton Stalteri McKenna Klukouski Simpson Bernier DeGuzman Hutchcinson Bircham DeRosario Radzinski Bench: Hirschfeldt Peters Grande Imhoff Brennan Hume Occean Gervais Reda Possibilites: Friend, Serioux, Jazic, Franks, Fernandes, Leduc, Ledgerwood, Gyaki, Wil Johnson, Nsaliwa
Moosehead
well, can't believe we can't see Canada v. Spain live. Can't they bring in a temporary broadcaster like Dick Howard. I can't see a women's team game at Swangard being of a higher quality to deserve live status given the stadium and crowd set up situation.
