DJT
B&WA, I'm curious, do you know how many downloads of these recordings you usually get? Or at least how much interest is shown in them (here it just seems to be Sigma, but I know you post them elsewhere)? Because if there's decent interest, I can probably record some matches as well — Whitecaps matches that you miss (if you miss any? we'd have to coordinate first) and Impact matches, at least. Also, I think that you'll find that recording at 56 kbits/s is overkill because the stream is closer to 32 kbits/s. I've used 32 kbits/s and it sounds close enough to the original. Blue and White Army
Yeah, 56k may be overkill, but I'd rather have it slightly bigger than slightly smaller and even minutely worse quality, by the off chance. Heck, some people release streamed mp3s as 128kbits/s! Aren't they the goofs. As for the demand... it's funny you should ask. I actually don't plan to release any more mp3 torrents.... or at least, I won't be cutting out the adverts and cataloguing the pieces with descriptions anymore. Much too time intensive, and usually less than 10 people bother to download, despite me flogging it on a good half-dozen boards. I'm still quite keen to distribute videos of Canada or Canadian USL clubs, though.

Alright, then go for something like 40. I'm sure the stream isn't better than that. I always have a download meter running so I know for a fact that the stream hovers around 4 kbytes/s = 32 kbits/s... Not that it matters to me what you do, but just to let you know... quote:I won't be cutting out the advertsI didn't know that you cut the ads. Do you do this as you're recording, or do you edit afterwards? If the latter, what software do you use? I was just thinking of hitting record at the start and letting it run till the broadcast is over. If you'd like, I can get some matches that way. Just let me know in advance. quote:I'm still quite keen to distribute videos of Canada or Canadian USL clubs, though.Yeah, me too. If I had a capture card I'd do all the Lynx matches on Rogers. Blue and White Army
I record the whole thing, generally when I'm sleeping (due to the time difference). I use a timer program to switch on my media player a few minutes before the broadcast is due to start. I then quickly go through it all, taking notes as to when each piece starts and stops, and what they're about (i.e. who is the guest to be interviewed, etc). I use Direct MP3 Splitter to do the slicing. By all means, you could record Whitecaps matches as a back-up for me, in case my feed fails for whatever reason, but yours works. As for Montreal matches.... by all means! Could you release it yourself, or did prefer to send it to me and have me release? By either way, I'll simply be sharing these future matches as just a single file without any note of what's inside each clip, as it has proved too time intensive to chop them up and catalogue them. Blue and White Army
quote:Originally posted by Sigma I like to download them because I usually don't get a chance to listen to the game. Plus, it is good for historical record. Yeah, I think I've only listened to one of these recordings from start to end since the 2005 season began. The main reason I'm taping them is so that, many years from now, I can have something from the past. Would be nice to have CSL stuff to watch/listen to, but little of it seems available!
