Rocket Robin
Not bringing enough players was one of the reasons the Durham Flames were eventually folded by the league. Too bad for Oshawa to have had the two worst teams in CPSL history play in their city. Thanks for the post. The CPSL glossed over the story by just saying Brampton scored four first half goals. (ie as if Durham tightened their defence after that for the second half). Earlier this year I saw Border Stars play Toronto Croatia with no subs and play for part of the game down a man when someone got injured but they actually won. Just a few weeks ago I saw Vaughan Shooters pull away from St Catharines when the Wolves had no subs to bring in and tired at the end of the game. Weren't CPSL teams supposed to have reserve teams? Not bringing 13 players minimum in years past has resulted in a fine. Short benched teams have also ruined a few Lady Lynx games this year. Vermont did it twice including their playoff game. leekoo
Weather played havoc with the weekend schedule with three games--two Friday and one on Sunday--wiped out. They are the London City vs. St. Catharines Wolves game at Cove Road in London and the Durham Storm vs. Oakville Blue Devils game scheduled for the Civic Stadium in Oshawa, both on Friday, and the Oakville Blue Devils vs. Hamilton Thunder game scheduled for Sunday. All off due to wet conditions. the latest from the CPSL ... don't know about this ... toronto croatia played toronto supra last nite ...

On Sunday at Victoria Park Stadium the Stallions needed only 22 minutes to build a 4-0 lead when the game was abandoned. Durham, because of injury and suspensions started the game with the minimum of eight players. An injury to the visitor's goalkeeper meant the team could not continue the match. what kind of pro soccer do we have here ... the article says durham is struggling ... i say shut this team down ... put it out of its misery ... In all seriousness, any club that defaults a game for any reason outside of an "Act Of God" should be docked four points in the standings. Maybe that will teach them to get their act together. db
Guest HamiltonSteelers
In most seasons, that would leave Durham at -1. Maybe docking 2 would be suffice

El CHE
quote:Originally posted by Luis_Rancagua I heard stories that the Brampton team is owned by some freak. Is this true??? The Brampton Stallions have changed ownership since last season when they were known as the Brampton Hitmen. Due to the late attainment of the team there was a lack of organization within the adminstration. There are two owners that form the Brampton squad that being Joe Fuliere, owner of a well to do electric company in the GTA, owning more than half of the team and a minority owner known as Neil Palmer whom they hope and striving to get rid of. He caused much disorganization at the begining of the season and signed many houseleague players that were much to say more friends that actually skilled players. Neil also took into his hands the signing of a coach/player to run the squad and the only thing he did run was the team to losses. Joe Fuliere has now stepped up to the plate and replaced many of the ill-decision making by him and now has in his hands a well oiled machine that we hope will drive to progress nicely for the sake of the rest of the season and better yet for next season. The team really shined against Supra yesturday although the changes could have been done better but their were players that did not show. Milodrag is the new coach, he is also one of the oldest players in the league working the defensive line. He has alot of experience under his belt also being a well known referee within leagues. Lets hope the team and work together to make a difference this year and lets hope Mr. Fuliere can attain full ownership of the team. Cheers hope this helped a bit. Good luck to all in the CPSL league.
