argh1
This weekend both the Van Horne Cup for men and the Wisdom Cup for women are taking place for recreational teams. The women are in Dieppe playing at Ecole Mathieu Martin. and Collège Comunautaire de Nouveau Brunswick (Dieppe campus) Teams participating are: Fredericton Wanderers, Dieppe Etoiles, FDSA Golden Girls and Hampton. The men are in Dalhousie playing at Dalhousie Regional H.S. and Ecole Aux Quatre Vent. Teams participating are: In pool A Hampton, Dieppe and Petit-Rocher Pool B Campbellton, Dolans and Dalhousie. Winners of both cups must let SoccerNB know if they wish to play in a wild card game to play into the Challenge/Jubilee Cups for competitive teams to be held Aug 27-28 in Fredericton. On a side note soccer registration figures are showing that in 1992 soccer registration was approx 3,000 and in 2004 was over 17,000. Which doesn't sound bad for a province of just over 760,000 (now if the gov't could just figure out why 900,000 have medi-care cards. They wouldn't live in neighbouring communties in Maine....would they [:0]). I don't think. EDIT: Oooops if I'm gonna list the cups I might as well add...... That the Michael Dunn Cup (for Masters age 35+) will be hosted by Moncton Rovers SC in mid September.
