Winnipeg Fury
Catliff - 19 Mitchell - 19 Bunbury - 16 Corazzin - 11 Vrablic - 11 Peschisolido - 10 McKenna - 9 McKenna will surely overtake Pesch and Corazzin, and has a very good chance of catching Alex Bunbury (the former MVP of Portugal's First Division and all-time goal scoring leader at Maritimo) . He's ten goals behind Mitchell and Catliff, but he's still young and it's conceivable that he could be Canada's greatest goal scorer. The only thing holding him back will be Canada's pathetic lack of international matches.
Cheeta
Or injury. With a bit of luck by year's end (as you write) he'll be into 4th on that list with nothing but the next 10 years ahead of him. Damn. Struggled through injury all of last year, and to think we were just a timely goal or two away from going through to The Hex. Watson and Pizzolito or Big Kev? Damned easy call where I sit. Guest Dave
Ya gotta love Kevin's goalscoring exploits. Here is a guy who to all appearances exemplifies so much of what is good in the Canadian character... a hardworking standup guy who always answers the call and gives it his best despite injury or risk to club career. He may not be the most talented guy on the squad, but he makes up for it with heart. I bet if Don Cherry would ever get off his prejudices and actually watch a MNT game, even he would like Big Kev! I really hope Kevin is able to rejuvenate his career in Germany... few guys on the nats are more deserving. As to the alltime scoring stats... I've felt for years that Kevin has a legitimate shot at 20... and if he makes it his goalscoring exploits may not be surpassed in our lifetime. Wouldn't that be something for ANOTHER guy from Calgary who never made our youth team?
maxG
"it's conceivable that he could be Canada's greatest goal scorer." That right there might possibly be the most depressing quote I have ever read.
