masster
Bob Lenarduzzi said Sunday night that three Whitecap players had been invited to a men's national team camp. They include keeper Mike Franks, right back Geordie Lyall and red hot striker Jason Jordan.
analyst
Lyall has earned the invitation. His defensive play this year has been great. Opposing teams in the USL have to learn to attack the Caps left defence, as they won't get past Lyall. Jordan has played well and he has been very lucky. His teammates have set him up very well, and he created a few chances on his own through hard work. He won't get as many good scoring chances for Canada. He's a nice person so lets hope he does well. Daniel
This seems like another B camp, which would be great for our depth chart.
beachesl
Or, it could be the preparation/selection camp for the Gold Cup. There could be a lot of A team hold-outs this summer as many decide they need a break or to stay with their clubs during league play (Norway, Sweden, Russia) or training camps (elsewhere in Euroland). If there is a B camp, it would have to be in late July, as Frank Yallop will be busy with the U-20 team as assistant coach and with Gold Cup until at least mid-July.
