DJT
Vancouver Whitecaps (0-1-0) vs. Rochester Raging Rhinos (0-0-0) Kickoff at 7:00 PM PDT. So far the audio Webcast by TEAM 1040 Vancouver seems to be working (pre-match show right now). If need be there is also WYSL 1040 AM Rochester. DJT
In the first half the TEAM had a guy in the "liquified" SouthSide and we got to hear them singing a bit. Then the TEAM were giving "shout-outs" at halftime — Blue and White Army, Current Champ (aka Alberta Beef) and François were all mentioned. Carlo Corazzin scores a PK a few minutes into the second half. 1-0.

DJT
There was a post-match show on the TEAM where the hosts were joined by Bob Lenarduzzi and took calls from fans. It was interesting that, similar to what we see on this and the SouthSiders forums, virtually every caller was somewhat critical of Vancouver's offensive play: poor use of the wings and crosses, sitting back too much after taking the lead, generally too defensive. Daniel
Welcome to Bob Lilley's notion of success. No goals allowed in 2 home games and a 1-0-1 record.
François
Offense will win games, defense will win championships. The Impact won the championship with defense. Lilley, while in Montreal got the team to play defense first and to take our chances and site back if we take the lead. Nick DeSantis was able to take that and show them to take more chances, but the team is still based on the structure that Lilley brought to the Impact 3 years ago. On some nights, it makes for a borring game but results are there...Nobody has scored on you guys yet this year...

analyst
quote:Originally posted by Mr.Impact Great result for the Caps, What did The Rhinos look like? The Rhinos looked good in buildup, but weren't a great threat to score. In the first half, they tried to come down the left wing, with a short bald guy, #8. He only had average speed, not enough to get past Gordie Lyall. They replaced him at half. Their best players were 7, 10 and 23. They were missing three players (imports) who didn't have permission to enter Canada.
bribe taker
Anybody notice if Dusty Huddock, Rhino backup keeper, was on the bench? Trying to track down a rumor that he's left the club.
