Celtic survive by being one of only two teams able to compete in a mickey mouse league that is much further from La Liga, EPL, Serie A than the CFL is from the NFL. But that is all beside the point now isn't? Celtic are better than my Whitecaps and their League is better too, but that doen't give any reason for me to support Celtic because that underachieving entity has no relevance to me. Cheeta
Woa, woa, woa, now. Couple of things. A). The CFL dose not reward failure. What the CFL dose is punish the inability of a defending team to return a ball in play to play outside of the endzone after a place kick by awarding the kicking team a single point. The intention and result of which is to encourage the defending team to keep the ball alive and in play for as long as possible. Given that the distance any strong place kicker can hoof the ball (CFL, NFL, Martian League) is around 55-60 yards under absolutely optimuim circumstances, never mind what you get under typical field goal instances, a defending team has every opportunity to not concead a single point on every field goal from about 35+ yards. Whether they do or do not is strictly a matter of opportunity and tactical decision. Or of course there is the other option where we could spend 3 hours of a 4 hour NFL broadcast watching what are allegedly finely tuned atheletes stand around... . Celtic are one of the best run clubs in Europe. Excepting a few examples across the continent, all of which play in higher profile leagues with access to way, way, way more television revenue (about 10x for the average EPL club) Glasgow Celtic are carrying some of the lowest depts (and handsomest profits to-boot) and highest gate revenues to be found in EURO. And they've achieved this while playing in an admittedly inferior league which has trouble attracting, paying, and keeping quality foreighn players. Did I mention they built a 65,000 seat stadium with strictly private funds? No land deals with the city. No goverment intiatives. Blah, blah, blah. And people accuse Celtic of being cheap. Not too bad I'd say. As to the CSA. Oh, boy. Well let's think of this as an opportunity to for the CSA to put it's money where it's mouth is. It's time for Pipe and company to grow up, pull their collective heads out of their collective asses and put up. No matter how the CSA spins it, the Argos who were willing to pony up 20 millions and then withdrew aren't going to look half as bad as the CSA once the questions start flying as to what the CSA really brought to the table. Andy Sharpe; "Curse the Argos. We had a deal. We lost the TO stadium and the WYC because of them." Baseball Reporter; "Mr.Sharpe. What exactly did the CSA and it's million or so registerd players bring to the TO stadium project finacialy other than some blueprints which FIFA had payed for?" Andy Sharpe; "Uh.....Damn the Argos????"

Gordon
Easy Cheeta, I am just trolling the troll. Beast's reponses are pure comedy gold, but you have to play him just right. I hit him too hard with the Belize as good as Portugal bit, but fortunately The Beaver knew how to bring him out of his hole. I know that the Beast is actually a very bright guy who has created this delicious parody - an exquisite characture if you will - of a sterotypical 15 year old Torontonian (hates Quebec, the West, anything uniquely Canadian, a wannabe amercian desperately needing recognition of Toronto as a 'world class' city) who has concurrently discovered to his chagrin that the ruler in his geometry set is more than ample to measure his penis. I know this because nobody can be as dim as he presents and still operate a computer. Do you think it would be against the forum rules if I started to refer to him as 'Brother Dim'? I am sure his real personae would enjoy that. Oh ya, and before you Toronto guys get upset, the "sterotypical" Torontonian is just that - a prejudicial sterotype and not reflective of any real view of Torotonians.
