Phil_Ipswich
Hi Thought you might be interested to hear of another Canadian-born player currently at Ipswich. Keeper Andy Reynolds, 17, is on trial with our academy at the moment and, according to the programme at last night's FA Youth Cup semi-final at Spurs, was born in Toronto. He's been playing with Lowestoft Town in the Ridgeons League Premier Division and has obviously impressed our scouts. I'll see if I can find out any more about him. Literally no info but a poor quality photo here: http://www.lowestofttownfc.co.uk/pages/galleryf.html The low level of the Ridgeons League Premier Division (actually the Eastern Counties League Premier Division with sponsorship) is illustrated here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_League_System He'll be on the bench for our U18 side in the two-legged FA Youth Cup final on Monday and Friday next week which UK-based posters can catch on Sky. However, he's unlikely to get on and no other Canadians are in the side. Phil
Blue and White Army
What? A Canadian playing in English non-league that I wasn't aware of?!?

Guest Dave
Oh no! Better cap-tie this guy quick before the Faeroe Islands come calling... CSA dropped the ball again!
Phil_Ipswich
I reckon this is one club where Frank Yallop is going to be well on the ball regarding the cap-tie issue! Phil
Guest Dave
(grin) Not to worry Phil. Just a bit of self-deprecating Canadian irony. You likely haven't been around this board long enough to be familiar with the type of all-too-common angst-ridden posts I was poking fun at. (If you don't recognize the name "Joey Torchia" you probably have a life beyond this board!) Say, where's Luis these days? :-)
Phil_Ipswich
Rare for North Americans to point out irony to us in the UK! Phil
Guest Dave
True enough, but then we'all dowan hail from the Ew-nited States of America.
Phil_Ipswich
Heart-felt apologies if you thought I was accusing you of that! BTW, Jason De Vos and wife welcomed a son into the world on Thursday, Jake William De Vos, weighing in at 8lbs 14ozs. Rumour has it that Sven-Goran Eriksson is already trying to cap-tie him for England as he was born in Ipswich. Phil
