RDS should have 7 or 8 games from what we hear. No official word yet but we will see the Impact on tv for sure. RDS will send François Étienne Corbin to Puerto Rico for the first two games of the season. We'll see reports during the week leading to those 2 games there. He will be following the team even more this year.

I see RDS has the June 3rd game listed against Toronto so hopefully their will be more to follow. I appreciate this anyways as for those of us outside of USL 1 cities it's an excellent way to see the Impact.Hopefully during our yearly pilgrimage to Montreal to visit the in-laws I'll be able to catch one Impact game again this summer.

A repeat as champs sounds good [:P]

SIX IMPACT GAMES ON RDS IN 2005

MONTREAL, May 24, 2005 – For a fourth consecutive season, soccer fans will be able to follow the Montreal Impact’s activities on the Réseau des Sports (RDS) as six regular season games will be broadcast on the French-language network in 2005.

The first game will be broadcast on June 3, at 7:30 pm, when the Toronto Lynx will be the visitors at Claude-Robillard Sports Complex, for the second home game of the season.

In July, two other Impact games will be broadcast: July 6, when the Richmond Kickers will be in town, and July 15, from James Griffin Stadium in Minnesota, as the Impact takes on the Thunder.

In the second part of the season, RDS will feature three home games, as the team prepares for its playoff run: Friday, August 26 against the Virginia Beach Mariners, August 31 when Montreal will square off against former Impact coach Bob Lilley and the Vancouver Whitecaps, and finally September 4 for the return match against the Thunder.

“Once again, we are pleased to count on RDS and their support,” said Montreal Impact president Joey Saputo. “RDS is an important media partner that will allow soccer fans to follow the team and to see our players in action throughout the season.”

“Soccer is taking up more and more space in Quebec and the Impact’s performances are certainly a good springboard to further increase the sport’s popularity,” said RDS Vice-President Programming, François Messier. “Broadcasting Impact games on RDS is also proof of our interest to offer our viewers a complete and diversified programming schedule.”

is there any way to catch RDS outside of Quebec?

If you have Rogers Digital Cable, then yes. I believe you could call up Rogers and order RDS for a day, watch the Lynx game, and then cancel it the next day and pay only a day's worth subscription.

I dunno I'm not in Quebec and RDS, and every other French language broadcasts are all part of even the most basic package here. I thought it was the same everywhere. Part of the bilingual nature of the country I thought?

Not in Toronto. Here it works the way Metro described: you need digital cable (or satellite). Actually, on digital cable it's not even part of the regular digital specialty channels, it's above that.

What about bars ??? Any of them have RDS?? I would rather go out and watch the game instead of ordering.

In 2003, the TOU's caught Toronto's stunning VCup OT victory in a bar.

In Calgary, RDS is available through Shaw Cable if you have a digital box. You can order it individually for $1.99/month or as part of a package. I would think that most cable companies would have the option available through their digital service.
