There are show dates missing because the website does not have guest's names listed from Nov 20, 2004 - Feb 12, 2005

and Jan 31, 2004 - Mar 6, 2004

I've just now started adding the direct stream url so there shouldn't be a problem accessing the interviews.

If you have trouble linking just go to World Talk Radio Inside Soccer at

http://www.worldtalkradio.com/archives.asp?sid=26

and then find the date.

Interesting to hear both sides criticize the Voyageurs who just want to see a better product on the field. Thought it was funny that one of the Brian's wanted those critics cut out of the loop altogether. I think he called those fans bandwagoners. Hmm, I have been a fan since 1986, so if I am a critic, I should not have a say in how our program is run. Sounded like idiot's.

I didn't think it was that bad; it did not seem that they were painting all

Voyageurs with the same brush.

However, it seems to me that the CSA is lacking in some professional fortitude in accepting

some criticism. They neglect that quite a few fans travel a long way to attend MNT games

and we're the ones that wear and buy the jerseys and cheer for the team. After attending

the first WCQ game at Swangard last August and considering the way our fans were treated,

I'm not surprised at the CSA attitude.

It would be more professional if they could acknowledge that the Voyageurs CARRY the soccer

torch for our country, and also HUMBLY accept the fact that despite some success (8 out of 17

FIFA tournaments since 2000?) Canada has a long ways to go. Admission is the first step

towards recovery.

Quarry is right to criticize us fans. We need to be more forgiving of the CSA leadership.

They put players on the field in nice kits, and soon they will have a new logo that we can all be proud of.

Our kits, out game balls, our nets and out goals are just as good as those in other countries, heck even our refs have nice whistles.

We've got a lot to be proud of.

I think that there was a mix up. The person asking the question, by the sounds of it, was alluding to some other internet sources. Morgan assumed he meant The Voyageurs.

Interesting to learn that Yallop and the CSA had requested that Canada's GC games be played in Seattle because that is where they could get the most Cnd support. I guess that the CSA wasn't satisfied with the support received in Kingston last summer or in Boston at the last GC.

Having now heard the piece, it appears they are referring to FC Beast's trolling posts on bigsoccer.com, but Morgan assumed when he mentioned internet-chat rooms that he was referring to us, since Morgan's probably not aware of any other. This is what can happen when trolls are allowed to roam free on various sites.

Yes, we are seeing an example in that interview of the pitfalls of not controlling the material that gets posted. I know its a grey area, but one needs to know what they are talking about when they post critism of national asoociations other similar bodies. I am all for for critism and last thing you want to see is these forums become too sanitized, but critism for the sake of criticism results in loss of credibility for the forum as a whole.

If it is well thought out and reasoned, and supported by fact, critique is valuable and pretty much what these forums are all about. But if all one does is criticized the same the organization or group and shows little interest or knowledge in the overall subject matter of the forum and/or what that organization stands for then I become suspicious. Those are the contributors that you need to purge.

In discussions with both Sean Fleming and Andy Sharpe today, both indicated that they had no problems with people passionate about football talking, criticizing, whatever. Both of them seemed willing to not paint us all with the same brush and recognize that a wide variety of opinions and personalities exist here.

And don't try to sugar coat the crappy WCQ campaign.

Yes, that was frustrating when they boased their percentage of success in qualifying for Fifa tournaments. But he did not distinguish between the women game versus the mens game where the competion and global following is much much larger and intense. That, in essence, has been my concern about the womens soccer in canada from the very beginning. In that it will serve to pad the resume of the CSA. Thus turn Canadian soccer into big fish is a small ponds. And the CSA appears to be content with this.:(

I thought Morgan Quarry came across very well. (much more well spoken than Kevan Pipe). I don't think he came across negative about the Voyageurs at all. I thought the commentator got it wrong by stating that negative comments effect the CSA or soccer in Canada. I would disagree, constructive negativity is good and all countries have fans that are negative towards their team sometimes. Look at how strong the English media is on the English team.

In what way is a prediction that we will only get 1 point in three Gold Cup matches "constructive criticism"?

You are right, that part is merely nay-saying. I was referring to our critisicms of the WCQ campaign. He talks about how they had good results at the end of the campaign, and even makes reference to an untelevised loss as being unlucky.

He simply fails to get the big picture and that is that we criticise because we love the team. We love the country. What he needed to say is: "You know what, the public was right, we did stink" but instead he just glazed over it, saying that we've made 8 of 17 FIFA tournaments, and that we were unlucky to not make the hex in WCQ.

Well the 8 of 17 tourney stuff I agree with, it didn't convince me either. But I would have been very surprised if he had been critical of the CSA or the team in the way you suggest above. Taking shots at Yallop, Pipe or the players publicly will do the team manager no good at all. If I was in his position I wouldn't publicly do that either.

Wasn't the only untelevised game a win?
