devioustrevor
The Hockey News is reporting that the two sides have agreed in principle on a $45M salary cap. Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux are in New York and involved in the final negotiations. Gary Bettman may 'un-cancel' the season tomorrow if the final details are successfully negotiated. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/article.jsp?content=20050218_170817_1040 http://thn.com/en/headlines/detail.asp?id=27358
Richard
If the season is 'un-cancelled' it will just make the NHL and the players look even more like the bunch of overpaid greedy idiots they are.
juaninho
Bettman you nadless diplomat, stick to your principles. Cancel the season. What on earth would the NHL season look like anyway? A ten day training camp followed by an 8 week season? This isn't the original six here - half of the teams probably wouldn't even play each other and i think it would debase the Stanley Cup, as the luckiest rather then the best team would win it. No, no Bettman, scupper the bugger and hope that 2005-2006 brings about a shiny new NHL.
