Current Champ's Global Champions League Pool!

Former Champ

Recommended Posts

I post on 3 boards right now. Voyageurs was the first, (EDIT)I'm mod for the Southsiders and I chat on a really funny board from Europe.

Pretty simple and all for fun!

1. 3 rounds.

2. Choose the results (W-L-D) of each match of each round.

3. Choose the aggregate winners.

4. Pick the Champion

5. Score points for each correct answer.

Scoring

Round 1: (Max 32 points) 1 point for correct result, 2 points for aggregate winner. OPEN, Deadline for updates Feb 18

Round 2: (Max 32 points) 2 points for correct result, 4 points for aggregate winner. Open when fixtures announced.

Round 3: (Max 18 points) 2 points for correct result, 5 points for aggregate winner Open when fixtures announced.

Declare the Champion.

You have only one opportunity to select the champion.

Pick the Champion in Round One = 18 points.

Pick the Champion in Round Two = 10 points.

Pick the Champion in Round Three = 7.5 points.

Maximum Score.

Every right answer will yield 100 points if you pick the Champion in Round One.

TO the WINNER!!!

Praise across 3 or 5 continents!!! AND I'll buy all of the beer at the next match we attend together!!!!!!

Which board will have the best average score? Voyaguers, Southsiders, Real Euroforum? Contact me to enter your board.:)

GEEK JOKES TO YOURSELVES PLEASE!!!:(:(:(

It's cold where I live and I have no friends! I'm good at math!

But then again my dog Pokey always liked Paris St-Germain and he still eats better than I do.....loser dog ;)

PSV DD silver goal

Maybe you were just trying to be colourful, but the silver goal went the way of the dodo last summer, with the now universal full 30' of extra time followed by penalty kicks if there is no winner after that (any number of goals scored at any time in overtime, the 1982 to 1994 World Cup rules status returned under the Laws).

I prefer those rules for overtime, let 'em play.

Real dilemna over the Spanish clubs, really want them both to win but don't think they both will.

Madrid LW

Milan LW

Lyon WD

Chelsea DW

Inter WW

Monaco DW

Arsenal WD

Leverkusen DW

Sad to see, but this has got to be the worst Liverpool season ever, not even Stevie G can save them this time.

I'll pick a winner after the quarterfinal draw.

I was PMing thanx, but some are out of date and others have no contact. You can change your pics until the deadline.

So far I got 2 admins, 2 mods, a hot Aussie chick, a gay Irishman with one testicle, 2 or 3 English chavs, a hippie cat (or is it an hippie?) and a good chunk of Voyageurs. I've already recieved the response I hoped for. Almost 20.

Maybe in 5 or 10 years I can get a beer sponsor.[:P]

Thanks to everyone that's registered. ANd everyone is still welcome.

Kjersti the cat is brandishing the YELLOW CARD!!!! beachesl was already warned about being a bully and Kjersti is very cross! [:P]

I'm sure I knew what you meant, argh1.

I guess that rule(?) that was sort of included in the overall template as match results is based on the final results of matches, ET, PK or not. When I picked Juventus DD I meant on away goals.

Example...

Team A wins at home 3-1, Team B wins at home 3-1 and in extra time (or pk) Team A wins (2-3) They still lost the tie, but won the aggregate.

I'm not sure how this thread works, but I'm going to do this:

Real Madrid (Spain) Juventus (Italy)

- Madrid 2-2, Away goals

Porto (Portugal) Internazionale (Italy)

- Porto 3-1

Barcelona (Spain) Chelsea (England)

- Chelsea 1-0

Werder Bremen (Germany) Lyon (France)

- Lyon 3-0

Liverpool (England) Bayer Leverkusen (Germany)

- Leverkusen 5-2

PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) Monaco (France)

- Monaco 11 Away goals

Manchester United (England) AC Milan (Italy)

- Milan 4-0

Bayern Munich (Germany) Arsenal (England)

- Arsenal 2-0

And beyond that, I can't predict because the quarter finals are another draw. However I will predict that Lyon will win it all.

At the risk of being accused of being a bully again;), in addition to picking the winners of the whole round, to get max points you have to choose the result (win, loss, draw) of each of the two legs between each of the teams (by "Choose the results (W-L-D) of each match of each round" CC actually means the result of each leg of what is technically he two-legged match".

However, CC bro, in typical gonzo ambiguity you have neglected to define a "draw" if the second leg game goes into extra time or penalty kicks. In either case, is that a "draw" (ie: after 90' + injury), or a win/loss with the eventual winner? Picky, picky picky, I know...

Juventus W D (Two of the teams I love to hate)

Porto W L (Please God. Pretty please with sugar on top. I promise to behave myself this year if Porto advance)

Chelsea W D (I love Barca, but Mourinho is 100 times better than Rijkaard)

Bremen W D

Bayer Leverkusen W W

PSV W L

Man U W D (Two more teams I love to hate. But the new Ro-Ro show will prevail)

Arsenal W D

If Chelsea without Robben can get past Barca and Ronaldinho/Deco, they will win the UCL!!!!!
