beachesl
from CSA site W-League Tuesday, January 04, 2005 Lynx Appoint Mosen As Head Coach of Lady Lynx Tuesday, January 4, 2005 (TORONTO, ON) - The Toronto Lynx management announced today the appointment of Brett Mosen to the head coach position of the Toronto Lady Lynx. "Brett is one of the most experienced coaches in the United Soccer Leagues having coached in every league within the system with this appointment ( A-League,PDL, Premier, SYL and W-League), says Nicole Hartrell, the Chief Operating Officer of the Toronto Lynx Soccer Club. " We are certain that he will kick things up a notch for the W-League and provide fine direction and inspiration for the top female soccer players of our country. Soccer fans will be in for a great treat in Toronto!" In 2002, Brett coached the Atlanta Silverbacks of the A-League while previous to this coaching other A-league Clubs: Nashville Metros, Tennessee Rhythm and Hampton Roads. In 2003-04, Mosen became a part of the Lynx organization by accepting a position in the Toronto Lynx Premier Soccer Academy where he mentored and coached the Lynx Youth Programs and the Toronto Lynx Junior teams which play in the Super Y League. Due to his exceptional credentials and experience, he also assisted Duncan Wilde in coaching the Toronto Lynx A-League team last summer. Mosen's coaching credentials include an "A" License from the United States Soccer Federation;an advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America; an UEFA "B" License from the English Football Association and a Coerver Coaching USA License. "With the success of the Canadian Women's National Teams along with Vancouver winning the 2004 W-League Championship it proves the strength of women's soccer in Canada," states Mosen. "This W-League team will be a true showcase of the home grown soccer talent here in the Greater Toronto Area, just as the professional A-League men's team serves as a role model for our young ambitious male players. For the continued development of the women's game it becomes equally important our talented female players have an opportunity to view a high level of play and begin to emulate the talent they see on the field. This is an exciting time for women's soccer in Toronto and I look forward to the challenge ahead". Open trials for the Lady Lynx are scheduled for Saturday, March 12th from 9am-12pm and Sunday, March 13th from 9:30am-12:30pm at the Oakville Sports Centre. Elite women's players interested in playing at the highest level of women's soccer in North America are invited to take part. For more information on trials call Team Operations, Dave Nutt, at 416-251-4625 ext. 30. The Lady Lynx will be a team to watch in 2005 in the W-League with Brett Mosen at the helm! The Lynx management is putting plans in place to have a full press conference in the near future to announce further details regarding plans for the Lady Lynx team in 2005! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Well, I hope they earn some of those exclamation marks!
