beachesl Posted December 31, 2004 Share Posted December 31, 2004 Canada, Ecuador & host Panama to compete in triangular tournament next week 29.12.04 - Canada, Ecuador and the host Panama will compete in a triangular tournament called “Copa del Pacífico” from the 4-8 January 2005 at the Estadio Rommel Fernández in Ciudad de Panamá. The event begins on 4 January with Panama greeting Canada at 20:00. The last time the two teams met in an U-20 encounter at the Estadio Rommel Fernández, the canaleros defeated the maple leafs 2:1 on 15 October 2003 during the “Cien Años de La República” Tournament. The second day (6 January) of the “Copa del Pacífico” will have Canada taking on Ecuador at 20:30. The tournament concludes on 8 January when Panama host Ecuador at 20:00. All three teams are in preparations for the respective Under-20 Qualifiers next year. Panama will compete with Costa Rica, Trinidad & Tobago and the USA in Group A of the CONCACAF Final Round Qualification at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California from 12-16 January, while Canada is in Group B at the Estadio Francisco Morazan in San Pedro Sula, Honduras from 26-30 January alongside Jamaica, Mexico and the host. The top two teams from each CONCACAF Final Round Group will qualify to the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in Netherlands from 10 June – 2 July. What happened to the Ft Lauderale camp/tournament? \edit: I guess the rumoured match with Colombia is off , as the U-20 Qualifying tournament for South America is set to start January 13, with the torunament going until the February 6 in Colombia's Cafeteria region.
