Saputo Group to take over FC Nantes??? [French]

Didn't know where to put this as this might have some implications everywhere.

A Nantes radio station and a Parisian newspaper have tipped the Saputo Group (130m Euros profit last year) to become part-owners of the fledgling FC Nantes.

thank you. why is he not supporting canadian socceR? has anyone posed that question? since nearly everything he has is thanks to canada and all. clearly he isn't in sports to get rich as everyone knows owners of sports teams run them as hobbies. pfft.

You're kidding right? You have heard of the Montreal Impact right?

Just as an aside, Saputo makes the best damn Mozarella.

I really enjoy their provalone. I've never ever bought a product on sponsorship alone, but I do, because they support the Impact. It's nice that the product they promote is excellent.

Saputo, for all intents and purposes, IS the Impact since its foundation.

Now for a can of worms to be opened. Isn't Saputo linked to the Montreal Mob.

As in- don't buy our cheeze you won't be making many pizza's? I remember in the early 80's Pizza Hut tried to open a shop in St Leonard and it was bombed into closing. They bought their cheeze through a franchise deal and it wasn't sapputo.

[}:)]

But good for them. They support soccer.

Also with an estimated 2.78 Billion, why did they need the Quebec Government to basically keep the team alfoat. I hated it when the NHL cried poor and wanted a hand-out and I now hate the Impact deal considering the wealth that Saputo group has.

They ain't a mom and pop operation anymore.

In matter of fact, they could bankroll a MLS team and have enough money left over to put a real A-league team in Toronto.

What I can say for Pizza Hut in mtl, they have several shops opened around town, and yes even in St. Leonard. Even if their pizza tastes like cardboard to me1!!

Francois, if anything, its your response that’s stupid. There have been links between the Saputo company and the mafia, including renowned mob boss Joe Bonanno.

Sooooooo, what is your point he has links to the mob, nothing has ever been proven. The fact is he, helped the Impact get to where they are today, and for that reason I am grateful.

How many politicians/other ompanies been linked to other organizations?

The fact is he supports soccer here in Montreal and that is good enough for me.

Tell me why, everytime that a businessman with an italian name is mentionned, someone has to link him to the mob???

Because to general society every Italian is linked. In the end it is a stereo type, that is all.

As a side note, when your business reaches Saputo's size, is it not so much the product that sells, neither who you know, but moreover it is the system. Just like Mcdonalds doesn't make the best burgers, but they have a great system. Same for Subway not the best sandwhiches, but have a great system.

My point is Saputo doesn't need the mob to keep his business afloat, he needs and maintains a system to keep his business afloat.
