marktci
Canada moves up five spots to number 90 in December's World Rankings (one behind Togo). Only four spots behind Scotland who are in a three-way tie for 86th. http://www.fifa.com/en/mens/statistics/index/0,2548,All-Dec-2004,00.html
canso
Canada should invite Indonesia, Togo and Macedonia for a challenge series and show the world where we really stand!
Kurosawa1555362267
And our next opponent, Northern Ireland is 107th.
argh1
Yeah but now we're outta WCQ and no hopes of making Confed Cup as these games count for more points in the rankings. So unless we get top 30 friendlies and also win away games I'm afraid back to near 100 or over is where we go. FIFA ranking procedures My head is swimming after reading those rules. Basically we need to play quite a few friendlies (especially against those in the hex), win them, and win the Gold Cup. Also, we may not fall too far either as some of the countries near the ranking also WON'T be going to the next round in WCQ. Like China, Jamaica, Honduras, and a few others. Although 90th still sucks, it's better than 96 (or when we began WCQ), and we can only aim and go higher ... Start by beating Northern Ireland. (Maybe Jamaica, USA, and T&T are next? These countries would need some prep time before the next round. How about we try to demolish Guatemala in a friendly? I guess I'm just wishing for Christmas...) We still have the Gold Cup in July. And why would we have no hopes of making the Confed Cup? We won the Gold Cup once, we can do it again, especially when considering that the US, Costa Rica and Mexico will likely be using their B or C teams for this tournament (which is inexplicibly run smack in the middle of WCQ). argh1
Mexico will be in 2005 Confed Cup. If we win this Gold Cup we will be in the 2007 Confederations Cup. A Festival of Champions: Confederations Cup I knew we didn't make it this time round. So in '05 Mexico has the Hex , Gold Cup , & Confederations Cup. Wow they should ripe for the pickin's somewhere along the line. CSA we want 3 friendlies with Mexico in 2005

I'd love to see a full strength Canadian squad throw down with the US. It would be a good match and give Canada a chance to see where they really stand. I just want this labor dispute to end, and maybe we can set up a last minute friendly with the Canadian camp in FLA before shipping out to TNT. THAT'D be cool. So would I, but while we might be able to throw down a decent squad to play the US, the chances of a full-strength team coming down for a friendly is very slim. Heck, we didn't even get those in the qualifiers, except possibly against Belize where a full-strength team wasn't needed.

savagebeast
If we can go up 5 spots without playing a game, maybe we should not play until 2008 when WCQ starts again, by that time we should be up with Brazil........Happy Holidays.
