it should also be mentioned that the N. Irish are terrific supporters, and its a decent side, I watched the Wales v. N. Ireland match at Millenium, and they were an enthusiastic well behaved bunch...considering the crap football they have put up with over the decades I was surprised by their passion and numbers. If we can get some Canadians together and head to Windsor Park I can garentee a wicked time....really the match means nothing to both teams and, and they are both at around the same level...should be entertaining, and perhaps us Canucks could see a win?!? dare I say!

Hmm, considering im poor and a University student, my best bet it to see it on tv. Who thinks Sportsnet will actually pick this one up? Considering there aint no hockey. It should draw better than poker or pool, oh yeah or the first round FA Cup matches. Its gonna piss me right off if they have Brentford vs. Hinckley United and no Canada!

That Brentford-Hinckley match was great well done to sportsnet for showing the early round of the FA Cup. If the CSA want the team on television, then improve the on field product.

Hmmmm. I'm giving serious thought to going, as I'm based in London, and a London-Belfast flight on Ryanair etc is quite cheap.

Think I should hack away at the student loan and save for the World Cup, though....

Most Flights between London and Belfast are run by EasyJet and FlyBe. EasyJet operate from Belfast International Airport (or Aldergrove, as we call it in Tyrone), whilst FlyBe operate from Belfast City Airport (which is Smaller, but is Closer to Belfast).

To get to Windsor Park, get a CityBus from Great Victoria Street to Lisburn Road.

Just sent an e-mail to sportsnet concerning this, but since this is X-mas time I don't know when I'll get an anwer.

Here is the answer

Thank you for your recent email. Unfortunately, we have not been offered the broadcasting rights for that match. Our apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Really wish I had the money to go. Last year I spent 6 weeks backpacking in Ireland and three of my best days were in Belfast. Stayed at the International "Youth" Hostel about 10 minutes walk from the bus station on the Golden Mile. I'd seen all the murals and political crap on a previous backpacking trip, so this time just enjoyed the city itself -- the big university pubs in the south and Robinsons Bar in particular. A fine town, clean and uncrowded, lots to do. All that and an international football friendly -- should be a great time for you guys.

I worked for the Child Support Agency which is directly Opposite Robinsons Bar. Alot of my Workmates went there after Work on Friday.
