It ends 2-0 with Hume going the whole 90 minutes for Tranmere. Good to see the team win again and Humey score again as both had been in a bit of a slump.

Reports say that Hume's goal helped him celebrate a new contract. Any news on for how long and for what he has signed?

Gordon Chin came on as a sub during the 56th minute in Halifax Town's 4-1 home win over Canvey Island. The score was 3-0 when he came on.

Match report here:

http://www.halifaxtown-mad.co.uk/news/loadrprt.asp?cid=MTCH&id=192823

"Then Canvey pulled a goal back. Substitute Gordan Chin fouled and from the freekick Ben Sedgemore headed the ball past Dunbavin to give the visitors hope.

Chin was given a "six" for his performance.

Just a note that Halifax Town's match against Accrington Stanley on January 3rd will be live on Sky Sports... I'll see if I can get someone to record it on their computer's TV tuner.

Wow what a stupid b*tch... goes to show how most Americans aren't even educated... "Canada is lucky its a part of our continent". Can't believe America is the most powerful country in the world when 95% of the population are either hicks and/or think America is the only country in the world. F*cking dirty dirty uneducated Americans.

That is funny stuff. Thank you for the link. Of course, you know that all of the people involved know better, including Ms. Coulter, and that the content is for the portion of americans who are too stupid/insular/insecure to think for themselves. We call them Morons, George Bush calls them his base.

TRANMERE . . . . . . . . . 2 BOURNEMOUTH . . . . 0 Iain celebrates new deal by picking off Cherries

IS THERE a better way to celebrate a new contract?

Fresh from signing a deal that keeps him at the club for another two-and-a-half years, Iain Hume turned in a match-winning performance to give Tranmere breathing space at the top of League One.

A late strike from Paul Hall helped wipe away the memory of the midweek defeat at Port Vale and rounded off a fine evening against one of Rovers" main promotion rivals.

The first half was an evenly balanced affair with both sides creating openings, although neither keeper was sorely tested. Bournemouth showed why they started the game just a point behind Rovers, with some quick neat passing in midfield.

However, they found the Tranmere defence had regained its solidity after the midweek debacle at Port Vale. John Achterberg was only forced into one save of note, diving low to his right to keep out a header from defender Shaun Maher just after the half-hour mark.

The Cherries did have other chances, notably when John Spice met a corner from Gareth O"Connor, but thankfully his first time effort flashed just wide of the near post.

Rovers" best work came down the flanks, but found the visitors" back line in commanding form. Gary Jones lofted a cross into the six-yard box where Iain Hume was lurking, but the lanky Maher was able to get a head to the ball before it reached the Canadian.

Hume later turned provider for Jones, but with the same outcome as Maher again read the danger well. Neil Young was in the right place to deny Beresford at the far post after Ryan Taylor had flashed the ball across the goalmouth.

Hume was a central figure in all the home side"s best moves and tried a spectacular effort from 25 yards after turning on to Paul Hall"s short pass. However, his effort was always rising over the cross bar.

Brian Little was forced into two early substitutions. Mike Jackson limped off to be replaced by Ian Goodison, while Mark Rankine took a boot in the face, allowing Danny Harrison to come off the bench.

The changes did not disrupt Rovers" flow and as the half wore on they stepped up the pressure. Hall latched on to a Jones flick on, turned outside his marker but then ruined his good work by blazing high and wide as he broke into the penalty area.

The deserved break through came in stoppage time. Beresford teased his marker before dribbling to the byline. He stood up a cross to the far post, where the all-action Hume arrived to glance a header into the corner of the goal.

Tranmere kept up the momentum after the break. Taylor flashed a thunderbolt free-kick inches wide of keeper Neil Moss"s left hand post after Hume had been hauled to the ground by Maher, who was subsequently booked.

The Canadian, having one of his best games for weeks, raced to the byline and picked out the unmarked Jones 12 yards from goal, but the forward could not steer his header on target.

Just in case Rovers needed a reminder that the visitors were indeed a threat, winger Wade Elliott cut inside Gareth Roberts and let fly with a low drive that was well palmed away by the diving Achterberg.

Then Elliott crossed for striker Steve Fletcher, who was allowed to climb above Goodison but from eight yards he steered his header well over the bar. A let-off.

An already open contest developed into an end to end game. A Hall snap shot stung the palms of Moss, before Goodison almost turned an Elliott effort into his own net. The Cherries winger also forced an equaliser when he got an outstretched boot to a through-ball, but was denied by an acrobatic save from Achterberg.

Hall tried his luck again, this time rising at the far post to reach straight at Moss, while Beresford sent a 20-yard drive into the keeper"s mid-drift.

Hume was unlucky not to double his tally after capitalising on a loose ball in the Bournemouth half with just eight minutes remaining. Galloping forward, he turned inside the last defender, but saw his right foot drive strike the inside of the post and bounce clear.

With two minutes to go Hall finally got the goal his efforts deserved. A shot from Jason McAteer struck a defender and the ball fell to the Jamaican winger on the right edge of the six yard box. He cooly cut inside his marker and fired into the roof of the net to make the game safe.

TRANMERE ROVERS (4-4-2): Achterberg, Taylor, Sharps, Jackson (Goodison 26), Roberts, Hall, Rankine (Harrison 34), McAteer, Beresford (Whitmore 92), Hume, Jones.

Unused subs: Howarth, Dadi. BOURNEMOUTH (4-4-2): Moss, Young, Broadhurst, Maher, Cummings (Connell 79), Elliott, Spicer, Browning, O"Connor, Fletcher, Rodrigues (Holmes 74).

Unused subs: Stewart, Purches, Coutts. REFEREE: Russell Booth, Notts.

BOOKED: Maher, Rodrigues, Fletcher.

Man of the match

Iain Hume Another all action display. Thank God the club have tied him up until 2007.

do you actually think Coulter knows better? I agree that those "involved" know better. And plus, this is Fox News, the biggest damned circus-joke of a news network in the entire world. The make the old communist state-run news agencies look like the most even-handed, objective news-deliverers in the world.

Coulter is kinda sexy in that skinny-assed white trash, sleeping with her uncles way. Damn, hot stuff.

Radz comes on in the 75th minute as Fulham earn a late draw at home against Manchester U. Radz also gets a yellow in the 90th for some reason or other. Match just finished so I've no idea.

Coleman's Fulham finish the match with Radz, John, McBride and Cole all on the pitch together. ****, might as well throw the kitchen sink at them already.

Diop netted in the 87th to pull Fulham level by the by.
