snake
all this talk about MLS and/or a canadian league is just an exercise in futility.how about a league to actually compete with MLS like the WHA did going up against the NHL. a western division with vancouver, seattle, portland, san jose, minnesota, winnipeg, and tulsa. and an eastern division with toronto, montreal, rochester, philly, atlanta,ft lauderdale, cleveland, a one million dollar expansion fee that would go to a league run rainy day fund.also have breaks in the summer so that teams could play traveling euro clubs. Daniel
First of all, look at how the NASL turned out... Second, this pretty much sounds like the A-League to me...
Luis_Rancagua
Hey!!! I'm starting to find this idea extremely suspicious. It would lead to straight bankruptcy.
G-Man
Hey without the NASL. Canada would not have qualified for the 86 World Cup. America would not have hosted the 94 World Cup. The MLS would have never happened and I doubt the A-league would have existed as well as it has. The NASL broke ground. Give it some due. And basically it's drew the same crowds that the MLS draws. When was the last time Montreal drew a season average of 23000 a game? or Calgary and Edmonton over 10000 a game?
