CSA should work with the World Campions Series.

With the champions series returning to Toronto next year after a great

past summer the CSA should get involved and line up some of these great club sides Celtic,Liverpool among others to play the national

side. Canada couldn't find better quality opposition anywhere and

maybe would help the younger people who laugh at the prospect of wearing the Canadian Jersey see the national side for the first time

in a long while in Ontario. Come on CSA get involved. I know myself

i spend close to $500.00 for the pleasure of seeing my sides,

Celtic and Liverpool play, just think if the CSA could do with just a piece of that income?

I'd go for that just so I could buy the posters. Hell even Thailand can get Man U., Liverpool, Newcastle utd. to come out and play against their national side once in a while. That's in sweltering heat in a third world country at reduced ticket prices, why can't we do it? I loved watching Newcastle go down to the Thais in shootouts, granted they weren't even trying.

Hey, that is so weird--I am part of the Swedish bikini team!

Oh, and in Sweden, an orgy with 3 bikini babes is called: Ikea.

(No, you don't want to see me in a thong!)

Unfortunately, the CSA do not run this event. The Champions World Series is an American entity and it would take a heck of a good arguement to convince them to let our nats play these major clubs. I don't see it happening.

But the CSA has the right for soccer events in this country so if the world Champions Series wants to play at the dome again next summer im sure they could work out a deal with the CSA for the Nat's to play a game. But would the CSA want to ?

I think Champions World has more of the bargaining chips in this situation because if the CSA makes it difficult for them to have a game or two in Canada, they could just go somewhere else to play. It's not like Champions World has</u> to have a game in Canada. That's why it would take a good argument on behalf of the CSA to get the Nats a game.

You've hit the nail on the head right there. Champions World doesn't have to have a game in Toronto. They don't care about putting money into the Canadian soccer program and they aren't going to take away one of the visiting teams games just so the CMT can have a game.

If their is money to be made in Canada by hosting a game, Champions world will come.

It's a business decision.

Thats is what the people who propose the CMT to be part of the Toronto game fail to realize. There certainly would be less money to be made if the CMT were to be part of it. The WCQ games from Kingston to Vancouver proves that they are hardly a big draw, certainly less of a draw than the teams that have been taking part in Champions World games are.

I really think playing club teams should not be our goal. We should be playing national sides to get our players to develop international experience. As for the team not being a draw, we should compensate for that by bringing in teams who are draws. I refuse to believe that Celtic v. Roma can draw more than Canada v. Portugal, Scotland, or even Mexico.

I was at Varsity Stadium in Toronto the last time Canada played a

WCQ match there against Mexico and there were more Mexican supporters

then Canadian and the same goes for when Scotland played there as well. Portugal would not doubt be the same. And some of these club sides play better football then some national sides. But as long as we some soccer returing to Toronto in the near future it will be great,i welcome the news that MLS will be coming.

It still wouldn't hurt the CSA to get the Canada Cup of soccer going again, try to find the best opponents possible either club sides or

full national teams and make it a yearly event moving around all parts of the country. getting the sponsors might be hard but they have to get

the nat's busy till the next world cup qualifying starts in 2008.
