juaninho
What Gives this season? Lets hear from you Man U fans and non fans and get your opinion why they just can't get anything going this season. After a 2-0 win against Arsenal, they followed with a 2-0 loss to Portsmouth and 0-0 draw to City. Being a non-Man U fan, which doesn't give me a license to objectivity i might add, i think Man U's problem this year is the mediocre performance of their Midfield. Keane's lost a step, Scholes doesn't put them away anymore, and Giggs maybe beginning a slow decline. Is ManU going to draw their way into 6th this season? bettermirror
it could happen. and being a man u fan myself, it is the midfield. scholes isn't getting into the same types of positions. the shots he takes are being blocked because they are either too slow or lack conviction. giggs isn't putting in his mazy runs anymore, and keane has quite simply been useless. my preferred united midfield: lm-ronaldo cm-djemba djemba cm-kleberson rm-fletcher/miller i think scholes, keane, and giggs are all locked up for a few more years tho. Kleberson should play for a Canadian A-League Team. Canada's Age of Consent is 14.

beachesl
Kleberson is supposed to have a taste for young ladies. When he moved to Leeds United in early 2003, then at the age of 24, he wanted to wait a few weeks while his 15 year old fiance, one Miss Dayane Wilians Da Silva, turned 16 so he could marry her in Brazil before coming. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=254987&cc=5901 . Kleberson was supposed to come in January, but his girlfriend wanted to come, and he could only be involved in connubial bliss with her in England (where the age of consent laws were 16) on Valentine's day, when she turned 16. Of course, the English tabloids had a field day with all the perumtations and perforations involved. There was, earlier, apparently a bit of a to-do in Brazil as well, because he had earlier left his wife and kids to take up with this girl, who had been only 14 at that time. It was also technically illegal in Brazil, as the age of consent was 15, although the law is seldom or selectively enforced there. Canada's 14 year old age of sexual consent, since it was brought in in the early 80's as a quiet supplement to the ammendment of Canada's sexual laws, is one of the lowest in the world. elricko
most definitely the midfield is the problem, Keane , Scholes, Giggsy are still capable, BUT they are not what they used to be. Ronaldo , for all his magic, is not the right fit, selling Becks was a HUGE error, Kleberson and Djemba have not come good, Miller I feel is an excellent future star. I do think Rooney should have come on sooner against City, his long range shooting might have cracked the game . I do feel fans are panicking a wee bit early, there is way too much talent in that side for them to continue slipping. Also there were 2 very good penalty chances not given. Lets face it, what did City do , except ( according to the Chelsea boss) " keep their bus across the goal", their back four had a wonderful game, but City like so many teams played to not lose--we can all do that!!! Eric_Cantona
I think United are having a tough season ,to start out with a loss to Chelsea sets the tone...and I feel Sir Alex has yet to get his right mix up front and in the mid so the attack clicks...very few goals is the issue, not letting them in,they are level with last years goals against...it is the fact we are scoring much less that has allowed lesser teams to scrape a draw....the mid needs new energy and we have Renaldo,Giggs,Scholes and Fletcher or Miller..I dont rate Kleberson or Djemba Dejemba...they are the Forlans of mid field...the fact that sir alex is trying Phil neville in mid says it all...RVN and Rooney should be a combo Sir Alex settles on but I fear Alan Smith will have something to say about that
