bircham as a cd?

just as the subject line suggests, how about seeing marc bircham as our central defender. strong, fast (or NOT slow! anyway), and a good man-marker.

this would allow serioux and (ugh) imhof to battle for the defensive midfielder spot (assuming stalteri now plays somewhere more offensive since hutchinson is pegged as right-back (which i think is good).

Mi amigo, I have no idea what a good solution is, though I am not convinced that Hutch is as well used at right back as he would be elsewhere. And, I think defensive midfielder is Imhof's to lose--I've not seen anybody who can take it from him yet. (Sorry, I will correct myself: Hutch would be an excellent choice in that position, with Grande attacking (??))

I think the issue of central D is a massive one, and I applaud your idea. I just don't think Bircham is the answer. Maybe Big Kev, maybe Hutch, maybe Reda--maybe Kluka or Nsaliwa down the line. Hard to replace Devos--not so sure we should even try right now.

Guest Can. in UK

According to the La Louviere website, Mike Klukowski has been playing some CD. Perhaps we should try him out in that position.
