Timotas
What the hell is up with Jaime Peters? Who is he choosing? Last week, it was reported his decision was going to be in 72 hours, I'm totally confused. Is he making his final decision after Canada's last game of WCQ? It's bizzare how he hasn't made a decision. bc_soccer_fan
Apparently he is having some visa problems, so that is why he hasn't signed yet.
Guest Georgio
He just likes the attention.
RJB
He comes out of nowhere, and goes back to nowhere. He may be a talent that Yallop wanted to cap-tie, but he didn't deserve to be involved in all 5 games, in any capacity.
stacks
Why are European teams interested in him? He only looked good for 3 minutes in the first game.He will probably sign with the Whitecaps.

Clearly the teams who are interested in him (Manchester United, Ipswich, etc.) are clueless.
Kurosawa1555362267
He's only 17, it's all about potential. So wathever he does if he becomes better that's good for the MNT.

They may be clueless. After all, he hasn't signed anywhere, has he? Anybody can get a trial. It means nothing. What means something is whether or not he gets a contract, and of course, we're still waiting.
RS
quote:Originally posted by RJB Anybody can get a trial. Really? I should give Man U a ring. They need a right sided midfielder anyways. Peters hasn't signed because of visa problems, as has been reported on in a number of different articles.
Angelo
Why are we slaging a kid who we should be making an icon, as the Americans have done to Freddy Adu. Jaime has more talent, speed, skill, tactical sense, and heart than any of the successful Canadians including Radzinski, Pesch, Simpson...... beyond the fact that he is still 17. Peters has loads of skill and at only 17, he may end up being one of the best Canadian players ever.

Canuck Oranje
My understanding of the working holiday visa is that the club signing him must feel that he has a reasonable chance of playing 70% of its games after two years. That would take Manchester United out of the running but would leave Ipswitch and possibly Derby and Millwall (but less likely). I would suggest the Ipswich would be the front runner only because they are looking specifically for a player like Peters. Having said all that, this type of visa takes time if you remember the signing of Serioux by Millwall. In any case, I also suspect that the visa issue has changed his options without necessarily changing how these clubs feel about him.
CanadianSoccerFan
Signing with Ipswich would mean a chance of playing in the premiership next season...
massimo
Give this guy a few years training with a professionel club, I'm sure we will all be praising him. If its frustrating you guys, imagine what he is feeling at this point?? I'm sure Jamie would like these visa problems straightened out ASAP, so he could get on with it!! It is great to have young players developing with the potential of Jaime. He does not have the tactical sense of Radzinski nor does he have the heart of Simpson...but to put him down by saying we should make him a marketing symbol like the Americans have done to Freddy Adu is a real put down for such a young man with "real" potential.
