Carrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaapppppppyyyyyyyyyyyy.

There's only one Jimmy Grimble and even The Match are better British soccer movies. Fever Pitch (as crappy as the movie is) is also better. Basically, try to avoid it if there's another soccer movie available(heck, even Ladybugs! :P).

I rented " A shot at Glory" roughly two years ago. The "human interest" part of the story is pretty bad in that its very predictable ( except for the ending) and full of cliches. But if you look at the film from footie fan's perspective, it has its strenghts. Its does a good job of taking you behind the scenes into the football culture in the UK. There are alot of well known soccer personalities in the movie and the game action scenes stand out as some of the best I've seen.

If you think of it as a docu-drama and rent it to see a soccer movie, you'll find some things to like about it. But in so far as the story, I would have to concure with Daniel.

By the way. Saw in the papers a few weeks ago that Hollywood is making an american version of Fever pitch. Only, instead of being an Arsenal supporter, the main character is a die hard Boston Red sox fan. The film is being shot in Toronto and some of the scenes were shot in Skydome. Drew Barrymore will star in the film
