kelownaguy
There's a lot of frustarated people calling for Franks head right now. Yes I'm frustarated as well but I'm not so quick to axe him. We had one bad loss in this entire tourney playing in the Group of Death, and that was because it was the team's first real meaningful game under Yallop against a skilled opponent who came in very prepared after playing numerous exhibition matches together. Now whether you want to blame the lack of preparation on Yallop or the CSA, we all know Canada's hands are tied because they can't get their team together for games like that while Euro training camps are going on. What I am impressed with is after that first write-off game against the Guats, this team continued to improve each and every game and were right there in it each time , even on the road against very good competition. It seems like we've been without Stalteri forever and have missed the services of our key player Devos twice as well. We should of beaten Honduras twice if not for some bogus calls, we lost by 1 in Costa Rica (a World Cup Calibre team) , we were right there yesterday with the game for the taking, the 3-1 loss was not as bad as the score indicates in my opinion. A brutal misplay by Onstad changed the whole outlook of the game as once it became 1-1 , we had to play with less defenders and take more chances up front to play for the win, leading to a couple of late Tico goals. Don't blame Yallop for playing Watson and Onstad, I'm not the biggest Watson fan but he held his own out there and looked fine to me, Lars has not played much first team football at all , when he has, he's given up a crapload of goals lately, he is obviously not on his game these days,,, Onstad was our only clear choice for this tourney. As far as some of his player choices, that debate can go on forever I'm quite sure. The players seem to enjoy Yallop as a coach, and when a guy like Radz who's playing in one of the top calibre leagues in the world gives him his endorsement, I'll take that as a good sign. I would give Yallop another chance for 2010, give him some time to mold this team with a good young core (Hume, Hutch, Occean, Peters, Deguz, Diesel, Simpson,,etc...etc...) starting with the Gold Cup next summer. Our biggest question mark right now, is finding a goalie who can fill the shoes of Craig Forrest, which we haven't found yet.

beachesl
A timely opinion, kg, good on you. I don't think most are calling for Yallop's head, but they are asking questions. I think that we do have time to evaluate Frank at least until GC next summer. I agree that the problems are systemic both due to the CSA and the situation, but Yallop made some questionable decisions. Radz is now irrelevant, and I don't think he has earned the right to make an endorsement, however. We cannot lose sight of the WC prize, and everything should be molded around this for 2010. I don't care about the GC this summer or in 2007, but I do care more about the WYC in June. If frank wants to send a good message, he should attend the WYC (assuming we qualify) as Mitchell's assistant, and send solely a developmental team of who he sees as good possible WCQ campaign soldiers to the GC in July. kelownaguy
Beaver, I realize Radz is gone now but what I meant by that was , Radz is seeing some of the top coaching in the world playing in the premiership so you would think he'd be a good judge of whether Frank was on the right track or not with coaching tactics and systems. Radz is on his way out now and isn't afraid to speak his mind, so the fact that he likes what Frank is doing with this team and gives him his endorsement is a positive thing in my opinion, that's all I meant by that. kelownaguy
We play 4 good games against Costa Rica and Honduras in the toughest group without one of our top players, and very little options to use at the keeper position, with a coach who hasn't even had a full year on the job to get quality preparation, and you guys are calling for his head????? I find this so funny,, how bout we keep hiring a new coach every 6 months whenever we lose a couple games, what do you thing guys?? Would that satisfy you.... The Ref
Yallop's got to go right now and he can take his pal Onstad with him. Gold cup or no cup will prove nothing we already don't know. I don't care if Radz endorses Yallop, that means nothing. What did Radz do anyway.

CanadasBest
Just finished watching the tape of the game. 1 thing is clear. Yallop needs a suit, that tracksuit looks tacky. Maybe the CSA doesn't pay him enough? Should we start a collection?
