G
It's interesting how things work with the people at the CSA. For example, former CSA President and current member of the Executive Committee, Jim Fleming, also has his son employed with the CSA. Sean Fleming is National Staff Coach – Community Development. Hmmm......Anyways, perhaps he earned the job. What is interesting is that Dave Stockdale, who is the President of the Yukon Soccer Association and a member of the CSA Board of Directors, hired Sean to do some Course Conductor Clinic's and to be the Rep Team Camp Conductor for the Yukon Soccer Association...............interesting. http://www.yukonsoccer.yk.ca/ysa/2000presreport.html Shortly after Sean was hired to do this, Dave Stockdale was designated as Head of the Delagation for the National Team Under 20 training camp in Duisburg, Germany. Essentially, Dave received a free trip to Germany, while Sean's father Jim was President of the CSA. http://www.canadasoccer.com/eng/media/viewArtical.asp?Press_ID=357 N-E-P-O-T-I-S-M This begs the question, what the hell does the President of the Yukon Soccer Association do as the Head of the Delegation for the Men's Under 20 training camp in Germany? If you ever read those CSA news updates on the website, everytime they announce the roster for a national team or a training camp, a member of the Board of Director's is named as the "Head of the Delegation", and receives a free trip somewhere around the world. Must be nice. One more interesting fact is that Evan Pellurud is the coach of the Woman's National Team. His wife Anne is also employed by the CSA as Administrator: Female Developmental Programs, this is a paid part-time position. Smells like nepotism to me. I wonder if Anne is even a Canadian citizen, because how could you hire a foreigner to do a job that clearly any Canadian could do, "administrator". It is illegal to hire a foreigner to do such a job, as per HRDC. Perhaps she applied and earned the job over all other applicants..........and perhaps our Men's National Team will win the World Cup in Germany! Moosehead
Well, I have to defend Evan's wife on this one. She is a highly qualified person for the job in her own right having had extensive experience working in Norway as an administrator. Her husband is working in Canada, what is she supposed to do, sit on the coach watching the Simpsons for 6 years. Spouse's of skilled workers with a work permit are exempt from HRDC confirmation. You are starting to lose credibility G.
G
Mr. Moosehead, I don't believe that I'm losing credibility. Anne maybe entitled to work in Canada because of Evan's status as a skilled foreign worker, but that does not mean that she's automatically entitled to job in the same organization as her husband. Perhaps she earned the job. Perhaps she didn't. I think these are fair questions to ask. Did this job even exist before she arrived? Was this position posted, or was it just handed to her? What was her previous experience in Norway? Perhaps you know, you seem to be quite informed on this topic. You would'nt happen to be Evan and Anne's son, would you? If you are, can you please ask your father to stop playing such a boring and terribly ineffective brand of soccer. Dump and chase works in hockey, not in soccer. (That's just a joke, please don't take offence like some other babies on this board).

Canadienfan
Like I said before. CSA receives package in mail from "G' do they dare open it? Actually "G" you bring up some good points for closer examination. If you can find out any ansewrs i'd be interested in hearing them.
Robert
Interesting that the question of nepotism pertaining to the CSA was already brought up in this 2004 post.
