Julian de Guzman and Hannover 96 will be looking for a win to get off the bottom of the table in the Bundesliga this weekend. They host Schalke 04 on Saturday then make up a postponed game against newly promoted Arminia Bielefeld on Tuesday.

Paul Stalteri and Werder Bremen are away to VfL Bochum on Saturday and will be looking for a win to keep pace with surprising VfL Wolfsburg early in the season. Bremen sit in 3rd place behind the VW sponsored club and VfB Stuttgart.

Tam Nsaliwa and 1.FC Saarbruecken play tomorrow with a short trip away to face Karlsruher SC in the Bundesliga 2 with Tam indeed starting as a central defender for the Saarlanders. A win would put Saarbruecken in the promotion race. Ryan Thomson and RW Essen also play tomorrow away to SVW Burghausen with Thomson expected on the bench.

In the Regional League South, Nik Ledgerwood and 1860 Muenchen reserves travel to take on 3rd place SV Darmstadt 98 tomorrow.

In the 4th division, Victor Oppong and SV Waldhof Mannheim are away to Stuttgarter Kickers reserves on Sunday. Victor has been playing each and every game for the Oberliga Baden-Wurettemberg team. Alan Marcina will likely start as a striker with 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 tomorrow as they are away to SC 04 Scwabach in the Bayern Oberliga.

According this newswire it appears Julian Uccello will be in the starting line up for the derby match against LAVAGNESE with Lupo up front at home. I will update this result sunday

Tam Nsaliwa plays 90 minutes as a central defender as 1.FC Saarbruecken extend their unbeaten streak to 4 games with a 1-1 draw against Karlsruher SC in the Bundesliga 2.

Nik Ledgerwood gets his first start I believe with 1860 Muenchen reserves as they record just their second win, coming back to beat SC Darmstadt 98 2-1 in the Regional League South, vaulting the newly promoted team out of relegation danger.

Looks like Nik set up the winner today for his team. Good stuff in his first full 90 minutes.

League One:

Torquay v Tranmere

Hume starts and scores in the 2nd minute. However, Torquay equalize in the 55th. But never mind, because Hume wants his winning goal back, so he puts one in with his head in the 87th and makes the final 1-2. Hume plays the whole match.

Tranmere are currently 2nd in League One.

Simon Rayner with the surprise start for Lincoln. 1-1 in 2nd half.

Richard Hastings has started for ICT!

Great news regarding Rayner ! He's still young and with some regular playing time could yet be Canada's #1 choice in a few years.

Nice to see that Hastings is back on the field and playing in the SPL. His Golden Goal vs Mexico in the semi's of the 2000 Gold Cup will forever be my all-time fave Canuck goal.

Article about Dundee United's game. Hirschfeld appears to have been at fault on the first goal. Another goal was a penalty and the others seem to have been taken at fairly close range so may have been the fault of the defense.

Kilmarnock 5-2 Dundee Utd

Kris Boyd wheels away after scoring his hat-trick

Killie striker Kris Boyd stole the show after scoring five goals in an amazing game at Rugby Park.

The young Killie striker got his first after seven minutes with a 25-yard strike, then bagged his second ten minutes later with a close-range shot.

Alan Archibald and Billy Dodds kept the visitors in it with goals in the 29th and 78th minutes but Boyd grabbed a fourth with a 37th minute penalty.

Boyd buried a close-range fifth on 84 minutes to cap a stunning afternoon.

Killie took the lead with only seven minutes gone, Boyd pouncing on a mis-kick by United keeper Hirschfeld and gleefully slamming the ball into an open goal from 25 yards out.

Ten minutes later, Boyd bagged his second, knocking home with his left-foot from close range following good work on the right wing by Johnston and Dargo.

The visitor's hauled themselves back into the match in the 29th minute after defender Alan Archibald scored his second goal of the season with a six-yard header from a Barry Robson corner.

Boyd earned his hat-trick in the 32nd minute, lashing a low left-footed shot past Hirschfeld from a Peter Leven pass.

Christmas came early for the Killie youngster as he was called upon to score his fourth from the penalty spot in the 37th minute after fellow striker Danny Invincibile was tripped in the box by Archibald.

Unbelievably, Boyd found the net for a fifth time in the 40th minute from a Johnston corner - but referee Toner chalked off the strike after an earlier infringement.

After the break, substitute Billy Dodds kept United in it with a 78th minute shot after latching onto a Stewart Duff pass at the edge of the box.

But Boyd capped a sensational solo performance when he grabbed his fifth with six minutes left following good work from Invincibile down the right flank.

LONDON, Sept 25 (AFP) -

Canadian international Tomasz Radzinski notched his first Premiership goal for Fulham as Chris Coleman's side ended a run of four matches without a win by beating Southampton 1-0 at Craven Cottage.

Suspensions had deprived Fulham of first choice forwards Andy Cole and Papa Bouba Diop.

That gave big American Brian McBride and Radzinski the chance to start and it was the Canadian who put Fulham ahead, mid-way through the opening period.

Portuguese winger Luis Boa Morte was the architect, making ground on the edge of the Southampton box before delivering a good cross that Radzinski met with a powerful downward header that left Antti Niemi with no chance.

Two minutes earlier Radzinski's cross had found McBride in the box with time to turn but the American's shot on the turn was directed straight at the Finnish goalkeeper.

Southampton's best chances both fell to Kevin Phillips. The striker forced a good first half save from Fulham's Dutch goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar but he was guilty of snatching at an even better late chance after Ian Pearce's mistake had left him with a clear sight of goal.

The win allowed Fulham to pull away from the relegation zone but Southampton, still searching for a new manager following last month's sacking of Paul Sturrock, look set for a tough winter after their fifth defeat in seven outings so far this season.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ The San Jose Earthquakes moved into a tie for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference on Saturday night after a 0-0 tie with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

San Jose (9-10-8, 35 points), the 2003 MLS Cup champion, tied the Dallas Burn with three regular season games remaining.

The Galaxy (10-8-9, 39 points) moved into a tie with the Colorado Rapids for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

Earthquakes forward Landon Donovan had the game's last scoring opportunity, a left-footed shot from close range that Los Angeles goalkeeper Kevin Hartman punched away in the 72nd minute. One minute earlier, the Galaxy's Carlos Ruiz shot wide left from 16 metres away.

In the 55th minute, the Galaxy's Cobi Jones forced San Jose goalkeeper Pat Onstad of Vancouver to make a tough save on a 10-metre shot.

Hartman finished with two saves. Onstad had four.

The first half produced more fouls _ 14 for Los Angeles and nine for San Jose _ than scoring chances. The Galaxy's Tyrone Marshall and Ryan Suarez also picked up yellow cards for reckless fouls.

In the 34th minute, San Jose's Ronnie Ekelund hit a rising 35-metre blast that Hartman pushed wide. Nine minutes later, Onstad easily corralled a soft shot by Ruiz.

Seconds later, Donovan set up Brian Mullan for a chance at the other end, but the midfielder's left-footed shot from close range went wide left.
