Big Canadian Bundesliga derby tomorrow as Werder Bremen with Paul Stalteri host Julian de Guzman and Hannover 96. Good preview at www.paulstalteri.com. Bremen need to get back to winning ways and Hannover need points. Despite Bremen's success last season, the two teams are even over the last two Bundesliga campaigns.

Tam Nsaliwa and 1.FC Saarbruecken look to keep their unbeaten streak going with a tough game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday in the Bundesliga 2. Ryan Thomson is expected to be on the bench at kick off as RW Essen take on Energie Cottbus, also on Sunday.

In the Regional League South, Nik Ledgerwood and 1860 Muenchen reserves host Spfr. Siegen on Sunday.

FC Schweinfurt will be without Waldemar Dutra (injured?) and John Castrillon Jr. (waiting for clearance) in the Bayern Oberliga this weekend. Not sure of the status of Alan Marcina.

Lars gets a game!! He gets subbed in the 62nd minute due to injury, with Dundee United losing 2-1 away to Motherwell. Lots more action, and they lose 4-2. Two goals against Lars in 30 minutes.

"Bullock, now struggling with a shoulder injury sustained in the first half after a challenge by Clarkson, went off injured to be replaced by debutant Canadian international Lars Hirschfeld.

The visitors were back level when a long free-kick from Robson was headed down by Chris Innes and, this time, McIntyre made no mistake as he hammered the ball past Marshall.

But, just seconds later, the Fir Park men were back in front when McDonald sprinted through the middle of the United defence and drove the ball past Hirschfeld.

Burns made sure of the points with a diving header in stoppage time. "

BTW, how's McKenna doing? is he back from injury?

From BBC:

Dunfermline v Hearts (Sun)

Derek Young has been out injured since August

Dunfermline Athletic attacking midfielder Derek Young is available after a knee injury for Sunday's visit to East End Park by in-form Hearts.

But transfer-listed defender Richie Byrne is still out with a foot injury.

Hearts midfielder Phil Stamp, who picked up a calf strain in the Uefa Cup defeat of Braga, and striker Ramon Pereira face late fitness tests.

But defender Kevin McKenna and midfielder Stephen Simmons are both still missing through injury.

Felix Brillant comes on in the 70th minute of New England's 6-1 rout of Colorado. He assists on the last goal for the Revs.

Pat Onstad plays 90 in a 1-0 loss to Kansas City. Dwayne DeRosario doesn't even figure on the bench. Unless he's hurt or suspended and missed the trip for that reason, you've gotta think he'll end up exposed for the expansion draft (unless Donovan finally sacks up and heads to Europe).

Brief NCAA note: Canadian freshmen Tyler Roselund (59 min), Andrew Procter (57 min) and Myles Davis (91 min) all contribute to helping UC Santa Barbara to a 1-0 upset of number 1 ranked Indiana on Saturday. If the Gauchos get out of the U of New Mexico tournament unscathed (they play Columbia tomorrow), then they could likely be ranked No. 1 as they were No. 3 coming in.

Just thought it interesting. :D

Lars' Big Chance?

Bullock breaks collarbone

Tony Bullock was injured against Motherwell

Dundee United goalkeeper Tony Bullock faces three months on the sidelines after breaking his collarbone.

Bullock was injured in a first-half challenge with Motherwell David Clarkson on Saturday and went off injured after the break.

The 32-year-old had made the first-team jersey since the departure of Paul Gallacher to Norwich City.

United last week farmed out goalkeeper Paul Jarvie to Second Division Forfar Athletic on loan until January.

Dunfield again not even making the bench for Bury as they lose 0-1 at home against Snatchthorpe. I think I'll stop looking him up.

Now here is a guy going in the wrong direction! From starring for the Man City reserves, to starring fof Div 3 Bury to starring for League 2 Bury reserves... Oh well, at least he hit his penalty in the reserve game unlike certain Olympic performances :). Too bad, a couple of years ago, I thought he'd be the playmaker we needed in the midfield.
