Yallop has only acted as coach for a little bit but you have to wonder about his player selections.

Kevin Mckenna- 7 goals in 24 caps, this guy is solid in defence or as a striker.

Marc Bircham,- a tough gritty midfielder, see ya Imhof

Tony Menezes- a capable defenceman with size 6' 1", has 27 caps

Jim Brennan- coming off great games against Belize, 2 goals + assist

Jason Bent- another tough gritty midfielder with offensive skills

Chris Pozniak- another dependable defenceman

so Yallop, why would you go with guys like Peters, (17 and unattaced)

Josh Simpson,(no experience), pizzolitto, etc...

play these guys in the friendlys to gain experience not when it comes down to making the world cup.

So Yallop hasen't been given a fair chance bacause well its only been a year, however he screwed us up in the year he had, see ya Yallop, maybe the Whitecaps will hire you for water-boy.

McKenna and Bircham were not healthy and Menezes was injured in training prior to the Honduras game. Bent hasn't played in some time. Brennan is the key player missing.

Maybe the recent friendlies did good for everybody but Frank Yallop. Purhaps they gave him false confidence about how deep are MNT is and who should be starting.

What friendlies? We didn't play any friendlies. That's the problem. Please don't mention the beer league games against the UK teams on holiday, they don't count.

I believe he's referring to the Wales and San Jose matches.

And the Belize games could be considered friendlies, even thou it was technically WCQ.

We've never had so many quality players. That sure isn't the problem. Our problems is the lack of prep time we have, the friendlies we don't have. Look at Guatemala and Honduras. Those boys play together all the time. The USA plays a ton. Sampson just won his 100th game or something ridiculous like that. Christ, as a nation, we've barely played 100 games. If you want to see how to succeed, look at the countries in our region that do. They play games. Canada doesn't. How long had it been since we had a match on home soil? It's a freakin' joke. We have the quality players. And even more coming by 2010. We need it introduce these players and let them play together a few matches before we throw them into WCQ. Maybe if we had turfed HO when he needed to be turfed, we'd of had more time to get the program and the players on the same page. To be fair to HO, we did the same thing to him when he finally took over from Lenarduzzi.
