Result of the Friday September 10, 2004 CPSL game between Toronto Supra and Brampton Hitmen played at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke at 8:30pm.

45 min...Supra Domagoj Sain GOAL...A Supra cross into the box has Sain head ball in from 8 yards. A Hitmen defender heads ball away but assistant referee rules the ball is already over the line.

48 min (injury time)...Supra Danny Amaral GOAL...Supra Pedro Dias rushes on left and cross from 20 yards has leaping Supra Amaral heads in from 5 yards to right corner of net beyond goalie Tony Swarminathan.

Final Score:............Toronto Supra..........2..............Brampton Hitmen...........0...........

Attendance was about 100 on this warm evening.

Supra's goalie Michael Silva earned the shutout and had to come up with a few key saves. Other Supra starters included Fabio Silva and Jose Silva but none of them are related. Both goalies had strong back up with defenders clearing loose and bobbled balls by their goaltenders.

Referee Manuel Orellana only gave out two caution cards in this game. Match observer was Norma Clarke who thousands have seen on television on the Direct Kicks show where a clip of her showing a yellow card and red card to the home viewers as part of host's Scott Granville's 'Rapid Fire' segment is repeated endlessly.

Both teams had plenty of chances to score in this game but many of the shots were mistimed or off target. The Hitmen have only scored 19 goals in 16 league games. Toronto Supra now pulls further ahead of all teams in the league with a record of 11 wins, 4 ties and only 1 loss.

The team was due to arrive in Toronto tonight. A re-scheduled date is being discussed and you will be kept informed.

Result of the Saturday September 11, 2004 CPSL game between Vaughan Shooters and North York Astros played at Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan at 8:15pm.

73 min...Shooters Marco Cashinuovo GOAL...Cashinuovo 18 yard shot on left on tough angle puts ball just under bar.

76 min...Shooters Angelo Pollastrone GOAL...A Shooters player's freekick from 40 yards on left is headed away. The ball is knocked around on edge of box and Pollastrone weaves in middle and 18 yard roller is into center of net with goalie Dario Ferreyra 12 yards off his line.

85 min...Shooters Jose Anikewe GOAL...Anikewe gets ball bounced to him and he gets around charging goalie and 15 yard shot is bent into net on left post.

Final Score:..........Vaughan Shooters...........3................North York Astros............0..............

Attendance was around 300 to 400 when the game started. Vaughan had a function for their youth clubs and was saluting their winning teams for much of the game. It kept most of the crowd of kids until the end. This was at least double their usual attendance. This season, the Ontario Soccer Centre is the home field of both the Shooters and the Astros. Neither team usually plays Saturday night home games.

The game could have gone either way although the Shooters had the better chances but misfired on most of their chances in the first half. Most of the play was carried on in the Astros end throughout the game. Goaltender Brian Bowes earned the shutout for the Shooters with pretty routine saves. The Astros goalie Dario Ferreyra was successful in his rushing to the edge of box or even outside it to clear through balls until the last twenty minutes of the game. A player on the Shooters yelled "Now the floodgates open" after the first goal. With the Astros having to open up after they got behind, it resulted in the Shooters having even more chances. Despite the actual goal scorers, the most dangerous Shooters players were Joey Todaro and Mathew Polleschi with the most dangerous rushes and shots on net.

That should be Marco Casalinuovo. He should be back in Italy by now. I wonder if he will be returning or not?

Here we go Rocket, I'll try to provide you with an unbiased summary of the Borders Stars/London City match played Saturday Sep 11, 2004 in Auburn Hills, MI.

20 min...Stars Steve Wonsch GOAL...Through ball sent by Jeff Hodgson is chested and immediately volleyed by Wonsch from 25 yards out dipping just under bar.

24 min...Stars Dan Kolic GOAL...Through ball from Wonsch sends Kolic on break from left side and he strikes it near side from 15 yards.

58 min...Stars Aaron Byrd GOAL...Cross from right side by Kolic is headed into top corner by a cutting Byrd.

70 min...Stars Neil Mcgill GOAL...Receives low cross from Dan Zalenski and taps it in from 5 yards.

86 min...London Paul Munster GOAL...Taps in rebound from head ball by unknown London player.

Final Score.......Border Stars.....4....London City.......1........

Border Stars controlled much of the possession but City countered well and forced Stars keeper Anthony Santilli to make some key saves.

Referee only had to caution a couple players throughout. The attendance was 800 on a nice day which is probably the worst turnout for the Stars this year.

Attendance was about 50 on this hot humid sunny day. This is actually the first game I've seen at Victoria Park this year. I'll take an official's word that this is the smallest crowd of the season.

Storm's Kelechi Ebuta took a ball in the face by Milodrag Akmadzic near the center line at the 40 minute mark and the Storm decided to play a man short for the rest of the half rather than make a substitute. Ebuta did come back in the second half and finished the game. To get a feel of what the game was like at 58 minutes a Hitmen player gets in a rough sliding tackle on a Storm player injuring him near the Storm bench. A Storm official complains to the referee. "There's no call for that, (breaking his leg) a 4-0 game". Oops maybe he didn't realize that a Phil Ionadi goal had been called back offside and it was really still only 3-0!

Hitmen goalie Tony Swaminathan earned the shutout and had only two crucial stops to make and they were well after the game was no longer in doubt. Paul Dacobert came in at halftime so three goals in 45 minutes was a very productive afternoon. I though Bayete Smith was the best player today as besides his two goals, as a central midfielder he ran through the Storm players like they were pylons although other Hitmen players duplicated this feat especially in the second half.

The Hitmen had only scored 19 goals this season until today. The Storm suffered an 8-0 drubbing on Friday night against Toronto Croatia, also not known as a high scoring team.
