sstackho
Since we're in fantasy land here, I found a scenario where Canada can get to the hex with only 6 points. Match 4: HON<CAN CR=GUA (i.e. Honduras lose to Canada (home team listed first), Costa Rica tie Guatemala) Match 5: CAN=CR GUA>HON Match 6: HON=CR GUA=CAN In this scenario, Guatemala have 12 points, and the rest have 6. The tie-break considers only the matches of the tied teams. Each team again has 5 points. So now it goes to goal differential in the matches of the tied teams. So if we beat Honduras by enough goals to get the best differential, Canada are in with 6 points!! This should be a cakewalk!

soccerbeast
quote:Originally posted by Current Champ You've said that a million times, but why would you want to ignore the World Youth Cup '07 in our own backyard, or Olympic qualification in '08? What about and subsequent Gold Cups that may pop up? I was talking national team only. Thw world youth cup in 2007 will be great but is not a done deal yeta the U of T hasn't yet voted on the proposal for the stadium. As for Olympic qualification, we couldn't get a team to qualify for Athens, even Iraq could do that. As for the Gold Cup? We need a new manager who knows what he doing to lead a national side, we need players who will play for the jersey not for better plane tickets, and we need to get our national team together for at least 10-15 matches per season. soccerbeast
Part of the deal of getting the World youth Championships was that Toronto gets a new stadium. If that falls through so would this tournament, FIFA could very easy find another country to host it. The quicker the U of T votes on the stadium issue the better.
