Timotas
Imagine our ULTIMATE midfield if he did play for our nats... RM: Hargreaves - A starter for one of the best clubs in the world CM: DeGuzman - One of the top 40 midfielders in Germany CM: Serioux - Praised by Millwall as their next great LM: Stalteri - A German Bundesliga Champion! That'd be the best midfield in the Conacaf region for sure.

The guy won the Portuguese Cup last year against the freakin Champions League winners! He has played against Sporting, Porto, Boavista, regularly for the last 4 years! He would go toe to toe against players like Deco, and cover him like a shadow! He played against Lazio! Yeah, I know everyone is talkin about his 'attitude', but in this posting you're mentioning Hargreaves, so at least here my points cannot be wrestled too much. bettermirror
i have a sneaking suspicion that serioux is better (and younger!) than aguiar. by all accounts serioux will not be at millwall much past may!
TracyRE
My perception of the general tone of most of the Owen H. posts are twofold - 1) the guy is a gutless weasel 2) the guy is way overrated (2 r's?) If either is true (doubtful) shouldn't we all be glad he chose England? Fact is if all our boys had a legal chance to play for England or Spain or Germany or Italy or etc., you might be shocked by the number that would jump ship to play for a country that is almost guaranteed World Cup or Euro appearances. Owen Hargreaves did what most of us would have done given the same opportunity. Live with it.

Desigol
Sure, the England fans don't rate him anyway. England should have Thompson on the Left.

Exactly what I've being saying for months. It's remarkable how people have so much trouble putting themselves in other people's shoes. Just because most people on this board (MAYBE) would not do the same as OH did, doesn't mean most people in Canada wouldn't have. Keep in mind England is starting their WC 2006 qualifying the same day Canada is (probably) ending theirs. You think OH is having any regrets? BC supporter
This is just such an enjoyable and enlightening thread. I really, really wish we could talk about Owen Hargreaves far more often. Hey, maybe this could be a sticky. Moderators?
