Man Utd this season...

Well first they tied Everton today 0-0. Aren't Everton favourites to be relagted?

What can you say about Man Utd? This season they'll most likely end up about 3rd or 4th, but way back from Chelsea and Arsenal who are just too powerful with their unbelievable depth. The Man Utd reign is over, with the likes of Scholes, Keane and Giggs all getting older and past their primes. Sure they have Alan Smith around, and Ruud is injured and Saha is finally back, but 5 points in 4 games has already shocked a lot of suppourters. I know it's only 4 games, but those 4 games really set the mood for the rest of the season. The next couple of years should be building years, well if they already aren't; the likes of Chris Eagles, Paul Tierney, Fletcher, Richardson, Spector, etc. are all the next generation of Man Utd greats, but this year and maybe the next are all building years for Man Utd.

Chelsea 1 - 0 Man Utd- Close game, but didn't expect them to beat powerhouse Chelsea

Man Utd 2 - 1 Norwich- Watched this game, and really Man Utd played poorly. Beating a newly promoted team 2-1 isn't the sign of a real championship team.

Blackburn 1 - 1 Man Utd- Dropping 2 points already.

Man Utd 0 - 0 Everton- Dropping another 2 points, and to who? Everton? Good lord!

Lets hear your opinions about Manchester United. I know many will reply.."Just wait until they get Ruud back" :)

Moyes dosen't have much choice. If they don't sell today Rooney could pull up lame and be damaged goods (again) for the Christmas transfer window.

25 million now or 15 million later. Everton need the cash. Everyone on the directors board knows it, everyone in the EPL knows it, and Moyes knows it too. He's just mouthing off, pretending he's in a possition to be choosey.

If it comes down to my way or the highway over the Rooney sale, I'd put a few dollars on Moyes handing in his resignation.

Forget Rooney. Although he seems to have fantastic up-side, one man cannot turn a team around. As far as Ruud is concerned - he's a box poacher. I think he's great at what he does (score from within 15 yards using his head and feet very well), but they need to beef up the mid-field depth and defense. Saha and Smith were great moves from this perspective. When Ruud does come back you'll have a close-in guy, and Smith and Saha to score from 15+ yards. Ronaldo looks good on the right in Becks old spot.

Defense: Rio! Rio! Rio! You really need him back. Fast!

And that's it. But I still think Arsenal will kick butt this year! But, but, but! Man U should never be taken lightly, in any game.

well i think the midfield has it's proper depth. by adding rooney we would now have 4 top strikers - which every huge club needs. missing solksjaer is really tough because he was the only man to give ronaldo his breaks every now and again, and obviously can play up front to great effect. the defence really needs building. why everyone believes sylvestre to be this fantastic centre back i have no idea. he is too starchy, too stiff. woodgate would have been PERFECT. with rio coming back, plus heinze, and brown united will be strong. i mean, obviously united have the depth. let's recap the lineup shall we...

gk-howard

gk-carroll

df-g.neville

df-brown

df-p.neville

df-ferdinand (s)

df-heinze

df-silvestre

df-o'shea

df-spector

df-fortune (i)

mf-ronaldo

mf-keane (i)

mf-miller

mf-djemba djemba

mf-kleberson

mf-scholes

mf-giggs

mf-fletcher

mf-richardson

mf-eagles

mf-solskjaer (i)

fw-van nistelrooy (i)

fw-saha

fw-smith

fw-rooney (?)

that's a lineup that should be top 3 every single year. you know, i am of the opinion that a championship is brilliant, but not required. you get champions league money pretty much guaranteed even if you finish 3rd or 4th (assuming qualification is successful) and the money from the FA isn't much less than if you won the league. add to that that 3rd or 4th in the best league in the world is pretty damn good!

yes, we need a better centre back to partner ferdinand, such as ledley king or christoph metzelder etc, but the squad is there. the play has been quality, the finishing has not been. without ruud the effectiveness of united's crosses is minimal no matter how hard smith works, and because of that united are forced to play more central which isn't their style. scholesy isn't the type to make that final pass, but the type to put it away. ronaldo and giggs i think play too much to the middle, but you'll see as soon as rvn returns they will return to crossing ad nauseum.

has anyone else noticed how consistently accurate and at-pace gary neville's crosses are? they are perfect. he obviously practiced with beckham who was his best friend.

rooney fee agreed and thank goodness for it. my three fav clubs are mufc, whitecaps, and everton. mufc need that 4th striker and someone with piss and vinegar. everton need the money, badly. they can now pay off all debts, and still purchase a few players be them on bosmans, or for 1-3 million pounds and keep themselves above the newly promoted sides thus staving off relegation. hopefully their pre-xmas period isnt too pounded by losses.

rooney will thrive at mufc despite maybe playing 65-75% of the matches. for a young man looking to move forward its perfect. he can learn how to finish under rvn, and how to hold up the ball by smith. keane will teach him a thing or two and in 2-3 years when rvn is starting to move on then rooney can slide in, if he hasnt already won a weekly spot.
