Daniel
Montréal Impact: 14-4-2 .700 Toronto Lynx: 12-2-6 .600 Edmonton Aviators/FC: 3-2-3 .375 Vancouver Whitecaps: 7-4-9 .350 Calgary Storm/FC/Mustangs: 1-2-17 .050 The number at the end is the winning %. Surprising to see that Vancouver has done so poorly in the Voyageurs Cup while doing so well in the A-League (only 25/60pts). Likewise, of its 18 points this season, Edmonton earned 11 in the Voyageurs Cup. The Lynx have been unlucky to finish 2nd all three years, with 4 wins every year, losing out only by a combined 8 points. They've had the top scorer every year (Budalic (tied) 2002, Ngon/Gerba 2003, Gbeke 2004). Calgary earned all their VC points this season as they had gone 0-0-6 in 2002 and 2003. The Impact owe their 3 successes to an impeccable road record (9-1-0), while other teams struggled away. The all-time scoring table: Eduardo Sebrango (MTL): 9 goals (2002-2004) Ali Ngon/Gerba (TOR): 8 goals (2003-2004) Zé Roberto (MTL): 8 goals (2002-2004) Charles Gbeke (TOR): 5 goals (2004)

soccerbeast
The lynx should just stick to playing the Canadian a-league teams based on this record.

That is because three wins and one tie by Vancouver were not counted in the Voyageurs Cup. Every year, whoever decides which games are not included certainly favours the East. No one is favouring the east and no one decides which games to include. It's all up to whoever makes the A-League schedule. Besides, Vancouver's real problem is that they haven't been able to beat Montreal (0-2-4) and haven't done well against Toronto (2-1-3), and there is no choice of which games to include in these cases. DarnCherry
In Vancouver defense it seems every year that they play Toronto after having played Montreal the night before when they make the trip east. On the other hand when Montreal and Toronto make their trip west when it comes to playing Vancouver they seem to have plenty of days rest before the game. This season Toronto had 4 games rest before they played in Vancouver (and 8 days before their next game). They were well rested and could go all out. When Montreal travelled out here they had 4 days off before the match, and could also go full out. They had a days rest before they had to play Calgary, and a day off before playing Edmonton. No back to backs there on their western trip. Only Montreal and Calgary had a voyageurs cup schedule that didn't feature back to back games and Montreals schcdule was the easiest in regards to having rest before and after games. There's nothing that can be done about the schedule but lets face it, while every team plays the other team once home and away, it's far from fair. DJT
I knew you'd say that. And I don't think you're wrong. But even at home Vancouver has gone 0-0-3 (0 GF, 7 GA) against Montreal and only 1-1-1 against Toronto. That's only 4 out of a possible 18 points. Admittedly, one of these matches was the second of back-to-back matches (which ironically turned out to be their best home result against Montreal over the three years) and another was the first of back-to-back matches for Vancouver. But in the other four matches Vancouver was at least as well-rested as the visitors, and in two cases were much better-rested but still could not win. Note that I'm not even considering travel here, just matches.
