bettermirror
So I was flipping through the Chilliwack Leisure Guide (British Columbia) and on the front cover is a little girl playing soccer. Maybe she's six years old. Anyway, I'll give you two guesses as to what she was wearing. a) Made your guesses? Of course she is wearing a full English National Team strip. Socks and shorts! So on the cover of the Chilliwack Leisure Guide - which really is a quintessential Canadian City (with the outdoors activities and all) - we have a girl saying that this is a country that wishes it were England. Why didn't mom and dad outfit her in a Canada strip? I'd bet just about any amount this little girl has never even been to England, but because we show 3 straight games - 7 hours worth - of English Premier League football, but not more than 30 minutes of a highlight show, at a time when everyone is at work and school, of the Whitecaps FC she may not even know there is a professional team in the province! I find this abhorrable and it MUST be addressed. This little girl could probably name half the English team and probably thinks Stalteri is a city in that boot shaped country! What can we do? I hate to say it - nothing. I will be emailing the CSA, Chilliwack City Council, the Whitecaps FC, and Sportsnet.
Former Champ
My first guess was of course Man U, but that's why you gave 2 picks. quote:Originally posted by bettermirror Why didn't mom and dad outfit her in a Canada strip? . It took me years to find a Canada jersey so pasive mom and dad have likely never seen a Canadian strip. But that could be added to you other good points. Loud Mouth Soup
was it obvious where it was taken, or are you spazzing out over a generic stock photo?

Soju
Yeah but in her defense she seems to be juggling that ball pretty well.
marcl_19
Yea well it's not too easy to buy a canadian soccer kit. Just today i phoned every sporting good store in The greater Halifax area and only found 1 place with it, and they hav to order it from adidas for me. So i can understand why she dont have a canada strip on her...
DarnCherry
Chilliwack isn't that far from Vancouver and you can find Canada jerseys all over Vancouver in plenty of stores.

DarnCherry
Lets face it, whoever outfitted the girl for the photo made the choice of outfitting her in a foreign teams kit. Some may say that bitching about it is going a bit far but it does point out the state of soccer in this country. Afterall when this leisure guide has some kid on it in the future, dressed up in hockey gear, I highly doubt you'll see the kid dressed up in Swedens national team outfit.
